Hi there!! We are SNICKERS, age 2…the “little guy” 14# … &. HERSHEY, age 3…..19# AKC Shih Tzu’sWe have weaned ourselves off of Badlands Ranch beef and onto this stuff. Much, much better!! We love this stuff!! No more food disintegrating into powder!!These little pieces are the best and we LOVE the RAW BITES!!! Our Mom tried it once before a long time ago with a large bag to save $ but it was stale and we wouldn’t eat it!!!So now she has decided it is better to order us 3 small bags per month. It’s more expensive, but it’s better for us. “Worth every penny” is what she says.So she opens the bags and picks out the raw bites and puts them in a little jar and adds them to out breakfast bowls so they last evenly. (She’s pretty smart)We are super healthy & super spoiled, too!!! We’ve only been to the vet’s for neutering and regular vaccinations/checkups!!!We get a little bit of this in the morning for breakfast with a half squirt of salmon oil on it….And for dinner we get 1/4C of this and we split a Merrick’s Little Plates teeny tiny steak dinner….sometimes, lamb stew!! Canned pumpkin several times a week.Always healthy grain free snacks and chewies!!!Sigh!!! We have these old folks well trained!!! LOLWell, that’s it…this is the BEST dry food for us little guys!!! It’s really good tasting stuff….we run around like crazy…no upset tummies….great poop. And all those things that make our hooomans happy!!!Tell yours to get you some!!!! They have kinds for big guys, too!!!Bye…WOOF, WOOF…..for you non verbal guys!!! LOL

My Shih Tzu has a sensitive tummy and she can eat this without any problems. The small piece are great for her since she's small. The freezes-dried raw pieces are a big hit and there are a lot in the bag so she can a few with every meal. Great product!!!

My rescue Chihuahua didn’t have a great appetite despite trying prescription and other high quality (Wellness brand) food. I figured I’d try one last food before assuming she’s just a finicky eater. I gave her a few pieces and she scarfed them down. So I tried to gradually ween her over to this new food but the little brat actually would spit out her old food on the floor and only eat the Merrick (pictured). She especially loves the little freeze dried bits. Despite the abrupt switch over to this food, no upset tummy from either end. Almost at the end of our first bag and she still loves it. The recommendation portion is almost twice as much as her last food, but the shape of the pellets and the puffiness seem to account for this, just something to keep in mind; I’ll be ordering food a little more often because of this but seems well worth it.

My Papillion loves this food! But unfortunately this time when I ordered it there was no freeze dried raw food. The manufacturer should do better with quality control. Those pieces are his favorite. I gave a four star because it’s the first time this happened.

October of 2025 I purchased a 8-week-old female Yorkie before I brought her home I decided to go on YT to try to find the best dog food for her and that's when I came across this dog food. I purchased the 10 pounds bag hoping that she would like it she is now 7 months old, and she gets excited when it's time to eat.

After adopting my 5 year old shih tzu, it's been nearly impossible to find a kibble she'll eat. I've tried so many brands! She WILL EAT THIS!!! And that is saying A LOT! I have THE pickiest eater I've ever had in all my dog mom years! This actually smells good. She likes the freeze fried pieces, but she actually prefers the kibble. I'll be ordering more! I never thought my dog would eat a hard dog food until now!

great little pellets for both medium and small dog. They love the fact that the kibbles are small enough to eat without chocking or gagging. Great ingredients as well

My very picky dachshund loves the Merrick lil plates line. She has a very sensitive stomach and she can't eat chicken at all. She usually won't eat any dry food at all but she loves this one...we bought the beef version. We do usually mix it with the Lil Plates wet food but she will eat it by itself. She loves the freeze dried chunks in it as a snack or in her food. Our dachshund is 10 years old now and has some bad teeth but the pellets are the perfect size for her. We noticed a huge difference in our girl after we started feeding her this. She because more puppy like with so much more energy. We love it because of the great ingredients and she loves it because it tastes good.
