Q: Can it be easily removed without spoiling the surface as i am planning to put on an expensive wooden nightstand? Hope its not permanent

Not sure but I would say yes it naught damage expensive furniture. You might try using a removable command strip to attach it.

Q: Will the adhesive damage wood if removed?

It didn't damage my wood table.

Q: How do i make the one that keeps falling off stick? yes i pre-cleaned the surface well with alchohol but it keeps falling off.

Pull off the film over the sticky tape that holds it on. If you did that then buy some double sided tape and put it on.
