I have always been fascinated by the treasure hunting shows that I watched as a kid growing up. Finding rare coins or detecting precious metals while digging through soil seemed like a fascinating adventure. So, when I saw this handheld metal detector on Amazon at such a reasonable price (less than $30), I thought that it was too good to be true. I poured over the reviews and from people around the world and decided to order one myself. It came on time and was exactly like I expected. The wand feels "solid" in my hands and is not some cheap piece of plastic. There are multiple sensitivity settings that you can easily adjust and even opt for a clearly audible "buzzer" sound when it detects an object. There is also a handy LED light built in to illuminate your search. It does take a 9V battery (which was included) and a handy holder & strap. Others had indicated that the cap was difficult to take off and insert the battery, but I found it easy to complete. Yes, you do need to align the cap threads properly, but that is the case with ANY screw cap so I did not see it as an issue. I give this product a 5 star review and tested it on various objects (sterling coins, iron, jewelry, etc.) and it works just as described. I can't wait to use it in the field for more challenging digs, but from all that I have seen so far, it is an excellent tool for this activity. Customer services was also excellent for this purchase and it arrived on time exactly as described. Happy treasure hunting!

Bought as a gift and they love it. Already found stuff in my yard! Family members have borrowed and played with it. Will buy another as a gift!

The performance of the pin-pointer was fine. There were a few problems with it, though. First, the battery polarity marks inside the compartment were almost invisible. They were very shallow indentations in black plastic, deep inside the compartment. I tried using some white correction fluid to fill in the indentations with only partial success. Second, the screw-on cap to close the battery compartment is very easy to cross-thread and not very easy to get started correctly. Making a mistake here could ruin the cap, making battery replacement difficult. Finally, all modes enable the vibration, with or without the buzzer. Battery drain would be a lot less with the buzzer alone, if allowed. Unless a rechargeable 9V battery is used, that could be expensive.

Love it first day try out I found 78cent...I felt like a kid again finding a nickel in a grocery parking lot but this was just under the grass.This is such a fun hobby from toddlers to seniors.I bought one for my grandbaby who's 5yrs old it's a magic wand that has helped her find rings pull tabs and even 35 cents...its a fun hobby her mother and she can share

Great pin point wand pretty accurate and very easy to use gives off a nice sound to hear easily if you are on target. Had other wands that just have a light or beep very quietly great quality item for the price I highly recommend it!
