Get ready to be impressed
Whoa! This doggie door is way better than I expected. I'm not blowing smoke, and I'm not a pro reviewer paid by the company. I have two big dogs, and two cats. The old doggie door became a liabillity, so I had to replace it with this one. Hey, I didn't enjoy spending over 200 bucks for this surprise expense, but since I was forced to, I'm glad I chose Baboni. I got the XL size. It has 3 door flaps -- 2 translucent rubbery ones with a third, opaque insulating flap in the middle. The fact that those doors are substantial is why I had to replace my old doggie door. It's all because of this new kitty I recently got. The old door had only one flap, and it wasn't always shut closed but was askew and you could see around it. This doggie door leads from the kitchen to the garage, btw. And yet another doggie door in the garage wall leads to the outside. And my cats are indoor cats. This new kitty is extra curious and I caught it standing at the doggie door with great curiosity about what was on the other side. I can't have my cats even thinking about going outside as their lives would be in jeopardy because of predators. After all that, this Baboni doggie door with 3 flaps actually is a savior. After I installed it, the dogs went through like it was nothing. I don't think they even noticed it was a new doggie door. And there's no way the cats will ever think to go through it. It looks impassable to a cat.Installation was easy. The door is one those metal doors with a foam center. This Baboni door is taller than the old opening, so I had to cut into the door to the perfect size. Pro tip: use a side grinder with a metal cut off blade. You can follow your pencil line and burn right through. A jigsaw or reciprocating saw will not work because the two outer sides of the door will catch and bend. like you can't believe. You just can't do it without major destruction and chaos.Once you have your hole cut, it's just a matter of putting it together. The most difficult aspect of this stage is drilling the holes for the screws. In a door like this one, with the foam center, you holes on each side may not line up perfectly. Let me make that more clear -- THE WON"T LINE UP. So it's real hard to set up the doggie door frame on the door and put the screws in from one side to another. I found you need to have a steel rod the size of the screws but longer and push that rod through each screw hole from one side to the other. You make a path through the foam with the rod, then put your screw through the hole and fasten the nut on the other side. This is what takes the most time in the installation.I wouldn't be afraid, if I were you, to do this yourself. The Baboni doggie door is made of first rate materials, and the craftsmanship cannot be faulted. You'll really enjoy the look of it in your home. It basically saved my cats from ever going outside, and it looks like it will last forever. I am rarely this satisfied with a product I bring home, but in this instance, it is so good I felt like writing this review.

Works as advertised
I used to have a single flap in the door style. The wind was always holding it open, letting in bugs and hot or cold. I replaced my door and didn’t want to cut a hole in the new door. So I found this in-wall three flap dog door. I’ve had it now for eight months and it works great. No wind pushing it open, no bugs coming through and it insulates very well.Wish I had gone this route years ago! Love the steel cover as well with the metal latches. Easy to install and very well built!

Best one I’ve ever owned
I have 147 pound cane Corso this door is extremely tough built to last I have had it installed approximately seven months. It looks like it did the day I put it in the latching feature for either side is fantastic. Let him minimal air the insulation pad is a must would recommend this to anyone with a giant dog.

Works well...until cold weather comes
This dog door was easy to install, is made of metal and has durable flaps. The magnetic catch seals well as well as the vertical edges seem to seal well against the frame, when the weather is hot to warm to cool. However, when the real cold strikes, such as in the 20's and lower, the plastic is not flexible enough to flop down and allow the magnet to catch and seal the flap. This allows cold air to blow in. I've had my washing machine and pipes freeze a few times due to this. That dog door is between an unheated summer porch and the unheated wash room which, before the dog door, would stay above freezing just from latent heat getting through the house walls. Now on cold days i have to have a heater running to avoid the issue. I have a 2nd (same model) dog door running from the wash room into the kitchen and that flap never fails to seal since it's warmer. Having the ability for the dogs to get outside day or night is worth the heat loss but I just wish the doors had stronger magnets to suck them closed on those freezing days and nights.

Worked as expected.
This door is great, Im pretty handy when it comes to stuff like this. The diagram cutout it came with was easy to do and the install was a breeze once I got the holes lined up with outter and inner sleeves of the doggy door. I do love the middle flap, it does a great job keeping the elements outside and ac/heat indoors. My dog finally got use to using it and uses it when it’s convenient for him. If you have a dog that is use to going outside by you opening the door, it’s gonna take a long time to train him to finally use it on his own. I’ve had the door for 2 months now and my dog is now starting to use it when he needs to go outside. It’s kinda cute, though, there are times he comes to me to let him outside. He expects me to give him permission before going out. It did take longer for my dog to realize he can come indoors by using the same doggy door, but no worries if this happens, he eventually figured out on his own. I will definitely buy it again if I have to. I even love the fact it came with a hard metal sheet and lock to block it off the doggy door, if you don’t want your dog using the door. When I’m home the flap is open all day long, but if I leave for a long period of time, I can easily block and lockout the doggy door. So I don’t have to worry about him being outdoors when I’m away.

Works Great!
I had the door installed and it took about an hour. It is great! Does not allow cool air out of the house and recloses easily.

Solid product.
A five star product. This entrance door installed easily and is very sturdy. I also like the metal door and construction. What I did't like is the flaps. They never closed properly and either got stuck on the outside or inside of the frame. Not very energy efficient with this problem. This was taken care of by the seller with a replacement door. Five star for the seller too!
