For the money it's a great heavy jigging rod. I mostly bottom fish with it using 8oz sinks and it does great has back bone to get big fish off the bottom. Done fast jigging for Amber Jack and the rod also has good action for that as well. Good rod guides, reel seat and blank. Over all very good looking an performing rod for a cheaper price than Shimano

This jig stick is a little heavier than the others due to being e-glass. It has a lot of backbone Whereas the other jig sticks tend to be flimsy. It also comes with a metal reel seat which is a plus. This rod would last a very long time if one doesn't try to defeat a car door with it.

I wish this same rod was available with a faster tip. It’s a quality rod!

Horrible shipping. Literally shipped only in the plastic bag from Okuma factory. Received the rod banged up pretty bad. Multiple scratches and deep gouges on different places of the rod. It is not Okuma who packaged and shipped it, not their fault. I would return it, but had to use it for a trip that the wife and I took and she caught a few using the rod and she wants to keep it because it is her rod and she already started making great memories with it. If it were mine I would return it and I would definitely not order any rods shipped directly from Amazon warehouse because they don’t care about the packaging. Don’t waste your time or money. If you purchase through Amazon make sure it is being shipped from the actual seller not Amazon warehouse.

For what i do i couldnt dream up a better rod at 6'6 still great sensativity alot of backbone well designed eyes and easily the best handle design ive ever felt. At only 6'6 i can cast in tighter spaces without worry of hitting branches. My complaint is the shipping considering the rod is 100+ dollars you would exspect it to come shipped protected it wasnt just cardboard and plastic around the the rod im still giving it 5 stars because im basing my review off the rod solely but the shipping is bad and the rod could easily get damaged ive bought rods that are 30 dollars cheaper that come better shipped i think the rod is easily worth the money but the shipping could use improvement.

I like this rod a lot compared to my old set up, I have a penn fathom 40 paired up with this. Took it rockfishing yesterday and man it was fun when it hooked up. I will update this review later this month when we go out for WSB and let you guys know how it handles. I have the 6’0 medium versionUPDATE**I have changed my reel to a Daiwa Lexa Winn 300 L it is much more comfortable to use. In my recent trip i caught this halibut about close to 40 pounds on this new setup.

Perfect for bottom bouncing or jigging halibut. The eyes are high quality and the reel seat really locks down tight.
