Great adapter to split the audio from HDMI on my Epson projector. I tried HDMI to HDMI splitters and they did not work. This HDMI to VGA worked great. I cant comment on the sound quality as im not an audiophile, but it did the job for well for a backyard movie night.The housing was just press fit together without any solvent bonds. I plan to simply glue it back together and carry on.Overall a good purchase

Not a good product used it on my monitor and the screen keeps blinking/ very cheaply made I would not recommend this item / the aux sounds doesn’t work as well

Purchased this adapter to use my Sony Bravia tv as a monitor for my pc. It works greats but issues with product quality and durability arose after making adjustments to the tv that put slight pressure upon the adapter which caused the housing to pop off. Easy to put back together since it is a plastic casing but repeated stress from the tv/hdmi cables being adjusted will cause it happen again and for the adapter to no longer function. Customer service will replace the adapter while under warranty but be careful with installation locations so not to place undue stress/pressure upon the adapter.

I buy a lot of old stuff from thrift stores - including monitors. Usually they work OK, but sometimes there are issues. One monitor has a green stripe down the left side - another had unusably uneven backlighting across the screen. Neither fault was visible by just powering the monitor on and and going through the on screen menus. So I got this to use with my ROKU stick (which fortunately has enough power on the HDMI port to power this unit). The only tricky bit is that sometimes there's not enough room for them both to fit -- but for the most part, I think I have a good tester for thrift store monitors.
