Awesome over vinyl
Sprayed over vinyl lettering to make sure it doesn't get caught or peel off, worked amazing and you can't tell it's there, just a protective layering over the top of metal and the vinyl.

Does an amazing job
I love this stuff, it's a spray which coats really well and protects. I have used it for coating my outside bench and other craft projects to seal paint. Definitely value for money

Fantastic Clear Matte Finish
Rust-Oleum 400ml Spray Crystal Clear Matt is a must-have for anyone looking to protect and finish their projects with a flawless matte coating. I used it on a few craft projects, including painted wood and metal, and the results were outstanding. The spray provides even coverage without dripping or running, leaving a smooth, professional-looking finish. It dries quickly, making it perfect for layering if needed, and it doesn't yellow over time, which is a huge bonus for preserving the original look of your work. The nozzle is easy to use and doesn’t clog, even after multiple uses.Whether you’re sealing a DIY project, protecting artwork, or finishing up furniture, this product does the job brilliantly. Highly recommended for anyone who values quality and ease of use!

Acetone Based-Not Suitable For Me - Until..
Not suitable for the application I bought it for - fixing a decal on a guitar headstock, I ordered it not realising it was acetone. Nothing in the description stands out to say it's acetone but to be fair the photo does show the back of the can and it does say acetone in the small print. It melted my decal - no biggy I have more printed and I'll use nitro instead.I used some scrap wood so no guitar was harmed in the making of this review. Lovely finish on the scrap wood which had had osmo oil applied already, so for furniture I think this will be just fine. 3 stars as I wasted 14 quid without knowing - but that's hardly fair on the product which looks great just don't think about it for decals, otherwise 5 stars as seems like good stuff. Factor out the 3 stars when considering this stuff, but just thought I'd put a warning for anyone else thinking of doing the same as me, when I'm looking at stuff on here I generally pay attention to 2 - 4 stars I think you get a more balanced review.**EDIT**Well it appears I may need to eat humble pie. Yes, the acetone melted my first decal - but really I should have thought about it before. Acetone is essentially nail varnish remover right? So how's that going to fly with fragile constructs like water slides? It's a recipe for disaster. However, however...you could call it serendipity, or stupidity or just plain luck, but while I was burying the headstock decal with nitrocellulose on my 2nd attempt I made a not so fatal mistake. I accidentally sprayed the Rustoleum onto the nitro finish instead of the next coat of nitro and to my surprise it covered much better and I got the matte finish I needed. At the time I was still sweating, so I hand sanded it off with 800 grit and carried on building up the nitro coats. The nitro spray wasn't covering well, I was getting orange peel, maybe the nozzle, maybe just as it was cold last week, but when I finished the nitro coats I gave it 2 coats of the 'secret weapon' (the Rustoleum) and its come out beyond my wildest dreams!. Not bad for a novice eh? This will form part of my guitar tools arsenal in the future!

Great for those art projects...
What I've Used it for - Acrylic paint on clay models, Canvas art, garden ornamentsResult - Worked great and gave a professional finishTip - cover work space, once sprayed DO NOT TOUCH your item (it will rip off paint), make sure it wont stick to your work space (it will rip off paint), don't spray too close as this creates small air bubbles.Added notes - after much useFor the smaller items I've made OR where i would be unable to spray, i have found you can get a small pot (yogurt pot for example) and spray directly into the pot, enough so you get what looks like sticky water. I then use a SOFT art brush (make sure it wont lose hairs) and CAREFULLY apply the varnish. DONT press the brush down hard (if you press too hard or the paint isn't completely dry it will peel) I've used this method a lot with my smaller items and it works great. Also i have found some acrylic paints (not all) react badly with the spray and can turn your art work a rather nasty orange, that's the last thing you wont after spending hours painting your new clay models or art work. Well after looking into it and finding no help i discovered a solution- water down PVA glue - 2 parts glue to 1 part water and apply to your item/acrylic (it will go on white but dry clear so dont panic)I tend to do 2 -3 coats just to make sure all is coveredThen go ahead and spray or gently brush onIt then drys clear NO orange(This is a great way to do it if your worried about peeling your paint when using a brush too)Conclusion - does what it says on the tin

Yay and Nay. Kryon works.
I use all kinds of paints to spray people's Airsoft guns and other military simulation products they want done. I have bought Matt Lacquer before but not this brand, so I know what works and what doesn't. I first used it on Kryon paint for someone who wanted a much thicker finish on an M249 and it worked rather well, minimal gloss affect and dried quickly. However when I moved onto another person's item (a AK47 MOSFET GEN 1) it was horrible. The gloss really came through for some reason, more than likely it was because I was using Halfords Matt Black and they do only suggest to use their own brand on Halfords but that's beside the point. This has no warning or advice on what paint to spray on, so I had to sand down the main body point and my own cost. So in all it's an OK lacquer but there are others out there that apply better to a wider range of paints but the fact it sprays on Kryon paint, is a good reason to buy this when there's none or more expensive lacquers about. Cheers. James.
