I like to be clean shaven and for a long time used an electric razor. About a year ago I switched to wet shaving with a safety razor, which I absolutely love. Feels so close and fresh, I’ve not looked back to electric shaving. However I have been having some sensitivity issues on my skin from the safety razors I use. I’ve tried lots of different products and the closet thing I found that helped was TOBS sandalwood pre shave oil. The downside with this was that it clogged up my brush and left my sink in a bit of a mess. It also wasn’t perfect, but did a good job. Then I tried this Proraso pre shave cream and my shave was perfect. No irritation or nicks. I’m usually left with a bit of a rash on one side of my face, none of that after my shave today using proraso pre shave cream. I highly recommend this product, especially to anyone with sensitive skin. And for the price, it’s very good value for money.

Having never used a pre shave oil or cream I chose the Proraso white given excellent reviews. In addition to the feedback here on Amazon, an external review of an array of pre shave treatments saw the Prosaro white in second place (to a gold medal product which was ridiculously expensive and not cost-effective).Whilst the white products are designed for sensitive skin, in addition to the above I chose this cream for its scent and a lack of desire to have the Proraso green which is based on menthol. And the scent is great, with that sense of being clean and refreshing. Having wet my face a little cream goes a long way. I wasn't sure what to expect but the post shave result is a closer shave than before with the added bonus of some background moisturiser and subtle fragrance. For me, the closer shave makes it worthwhile. Whilst not really needed, the extra protection and anti razor burn are a bonus if I was to be heavy handed. Depending on which shaving soap I use affects whether the moisturising element is handy to have.So, for someone who never used a pre shave treatment before, the resultant shave is closer than close. Recommended!

Firstly, the cream itself. Nice glass jar and packaging. Typical Proraso. The cream smells nice and even before you have applied it to your face you can tell it is very slick. Glides on your face, feels slick and slippery and helps the razor glide over your face.This cream can help you have a nicer shave and help prevent nicks or irritation. Apply this first, then your usual shaving cream.The second issue here is the advertising on Amazon by The Executive Shaving Company, and others. They have marketed this as a pre OR post shave cream. Quite frankly, it isn't. I have tried using this as an after shave cream and is is very bad at this. It doesn't absorb well for this purpose and takes ages to rub in.The packaging from Proraso themselves clearly state this is a PRE-SHAVE only. Seems to me that to say this is an aftershave cream is to over-sell it.That aside, if you are buying this for what it is intended, then I would recommend it. Just don't expect miracles, it is only cream after all.

I bought this as a pre-shave to help me with the irritation I get after several days' of wet shaving (straight razor and/or DE razor). I used this instead of shaving oil and under my Proraso Shaving protective cream. When applying this, you get a pleasant tingle on the skin and the product smells very nice (a lemony/minty smell). I found a definite improvement vs the shaving oil but have since found better and cheaper solutions for my sensitive skin. Overall, better than not using it at all, but the high price makes it unlikely that I will buy this again, when I can get Noxcema

Absolutely love it, really solve the issue of razor burn and my face doesn't hurt any more.I really recommend it.

Firstly, this isn't the pre and post stuff - I believe that Proraso discontinued that. This is labelled only as pre-shave cream - and it does that job remarkably well.Up until I bought this, I'd been using King of Shaves Pre-shave Oil. I'd been led to believe that there was nothing better and so I didn't look around. However curiosity got the better of me and now I think that actually, the King of Shaves stuff is only the best pre-shave treatment that you can buy in the supermarket, NOT the best pre-shave treatment available. This stuff knocks the socks off of that oil.Applying a blob of cream the size of my little finger nail to my neck (I have a beard but need to keep my neck clean), and rubbing it in gives me a cool tingling sensation and I can almost feel my pores opening up. After a minute or two I mix up my shaving soap into a lather and apply it to my face on top of the pre-shave cream. Then as I begin to shave, the difference between this and the oil is immediately apparent - the blades glides across my skin. Not once have I felt the razor snag since using this and not once have I experienced razor burn.I use this in conjunction with Proraso afterhave lotion and I have never experienced a shave as nice as I do when I use this combination. HIGHLY recommended.
