Welch Allyn RPM-SCALE100 Home Scale with Simple Smartphone Connectivity

I purchased this scale on June 5, and received it today. It was worth the wait, because the blood pressure monitor was so good. The scale is big, so I don't have to fall over trying to place my feet on a little small active spot, and it is very heavy and well built. The weight measurements are available in a few seconds from the scale. However, I only gave the scale three stars instead of five stars because I can't pair the scale. The blood pressure monitor paired immediately. A while after pairing the BP monitor, I lost pairing and I finally deleted the app. The app was downloaded again, but all data was lost. Fortunately, I sent myself the last 30 days of measurements, so I can manually enter them in the future. I will raise the stars from 3 to 5 when the scale pairs. I am using app revision 2.2.1. I am frustrated over the situation, but have accepted untested software as part of modern life. pair. ** UPDATE: After a software update, scale paired in seconds. This product, along with the Welch Allyn sphygmomanometer, are solid products. Scale was checked against a medical office scale, and it is very accurate and repeatable.

This WAH scale that I ordered from Amazon was replaced 5 times between Sept and Dec 2022 due to fluctuating weights. My use involved stepping on/off the scale 3 times during each session; waiting for a minimum of 10 seconds between weights; and finally receiving weight data fluctuating between 5 to 10 lbs. After navigating through multiple subsidiaries (Baxter, Hillrom, etc. and finally Welch Allyn Home Support) each time I called, I always found Technical Support staff who were very professional in dealing with my concerns and in assisting in shipping replacements. In December, after 5 replacements, I was told there was nothing else that could be done and a refund could not be issued because my purchase was thru Amazon. I ordered the WAH scale because I've used the WAH Blood Pressure Monitor 1700 for almost 2 years, and the ability to pair the 2 devices with my iPhone was wonderful, UNTIL about mid-November 2022 when an IOS update was rolled out that now limits the operation of the app. Currently, the app still captures the blood pressure data but crashes whenever I attempt to review and generate an Excel report to forward to my doctor/healthcare team for both blood pressure and weight readings. The Smartphone feature that is being advertised does not work now as advertised!! The Technical Support Staff indicated that there was no information about when the app would be updated to correct this problem, which is very unfortunate.2/23/2023The marketing information displayed by Amazon pertaining to the Smart Phone app benefits is false and should be removed. This feature worked very well until approx November 2023 when there was an IOS update, but Welch Allyn has refused to update the app. As a result, the app captures my blood pressure and weight readings but crashes when I attempt to access all other features. I have called multiple times since November 2023 and have been told that there is no information about when this will be corrected/addressed. Therefore, I'm unable to generate reports that I can forward to my physician.UPDATE: NO CHANGE SINCE EARLIER COMPLAINTS. AS OF 11/22/2023, THE FOLLOWING STILL SHOWS ON AMAZON'S SITE, "Seamless Connectivity. Free smartphone app allows you to track your progress over time and securely share readings with loved ones and caregivers." THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING AND SHOULD BE REMOVED!!!

The weight scale connects via bluetooth to my phone. A very helpful function to keep track of my readings over time. Welch Allyn is a very good medical brand and many hospitals and doctors offices use products made by this company.

The scale is easy to use, it syncs beautifully with the app, it is accurate and very easy to read. It keeps a running list of your weights and if someone else uses the scale and the weight is significantly different, it will ask if you want to keep or delete that reading. I like this scale and highly recommend it to anybody that is on a weight gain or loss journey.

Not a cheap scale but worth it. Nice large stable and slim scale that is easy to read. The only minus is the app that hasn’t been updated in years and collects a bunch of personal data that they have no business collecting so I deleted it. Too bad because foe the price it would’ve been nice to log the weight but not essential.

This is clearly not a well-made product. They have "sense on" technology, which is just a fancy way to say it's supposed to turn on when you step on it like every other scale ever, but this one does not seem to do that at all. No matter how I step on it (with bare feet as instructions suggest) it will not turn on. It only turns on if I hit the little button on the back.I did get it to connect to my phone via blue tooth, but then I noticed the accuracy is horrible. The range is more than 15 pounds between samples while it is placed on a level hardwood floor, and I'm standing on it perfectly centered in the exact same spot without any movement. Not sure if this unit is defective or if they are just all total garbage.The screen is also really cheap. They chose a model that has a limited viewing angle, so if you move your head just a little the numbers vanish. Lot of corners appear to have been cut in designing and manufacturing this trainwreck of a scale.

Pretty simple and accurate reading. Only issue is the app needs an old version of Android to work. If you have an old device with an old version of Android the app does work on it.
