Good Resource
I ordered this book as I deal with the ratios that this book explains. I thought it would be a good resource to keep around and resort to when needed. I am always enjoy hearing concepts explained from different points of view as it helps me better understand things. I loved the ease with which the concepts were presented. The one thing, though, was that there were several misspelled words which confused me at times and at other times just distracted me as I'd get caught up in trying to write in the correct word. But, unless you are a grammar police, you can get past that. I still have recommended the books to others and still will continue.

Well written and concieved book with some Kindle format flaws
I am a newbie in the Stock market and needed to get some light reading to understand the TV gurus and Warren Buffet in one book. This books comes in very handy as it deals with company fundamentals as well as stocks. It is like a lecture note and easy read.Arranged in headings as: What it is,where to find it, what it's fluctuations mean and what it does not cover(drawback). There are some rough ball park figures given as well. There is a particular problem with kindle format with the formulae- they appear so tiny and unreadable even on a large screen and maximum magnification(i.e on Kindle app for Mac OS whereas on Kindle Fire HD- the chart pop-up can be magnified).

Nicely Done Analysis of the Top Ratios
Nicely Done!Axel takes the top 17 financial ratios, simply explains them, and tells you want to look for when analyzing them.Axel, if you are reading this: Please make all white boxed equations MUCH bigger; they are microscopic in the Kindle version. Kindly do an update to the Kindle version, that way, when we click on the ebook, we can get this updated version.UPDATE: See Axel's comment, below. He FIXED the issue I mentioned, above. This book is now five star. I have the Kindle version, and it is perfect the way it is now...Regards,Marc

VERY Helpful
So glad I discovered this eBook. I'm working on my MBA, and in my finance classes we learned about ratios and how to calculate them, but I must have been sleeping during the part when we discussed how to use them effectively for financial analysis. Can't find anything in my notes or in our text book that satisfactorily lays out what constitutes a good vs. bad ratio. So, you can calculate WHAT the ratio is, but how do you know what it means to the financial health of the company? By the way, ms Excel has a template that will calculate ratios for you, but, again, what do they mean? This eBook bridges the gap. It's very readable, AND it tells you how to judge the worth of the ratio once you know what it is. It took my B+ paper (What my professor forecast based on the draft I submitted the week prior to turning in the final version) to an A+ because I was able to intelligently explain what the ratios mean, and might mean if the company made different decision--AND where the company was probably heading as a result of ratio trends over several periods. I actually learned something, and my confidence level for accurately and competently analyzing ANY a company's financial health is very high. Pretty durn important if you're trying to decide whether or not to invest in XYZ Corp. How they perform is essential need-to-know information. Competently navigating ratios is an essential skill. Good eBook.

Mediocre material, ridiculously overpriced
This “book” is practically a pamphlet. You pay almost $0.25 per page for info that a simple google search would show you for free. You can buy a 400+ page book for cheaper than this 85 page guide. Avoid and buy from an author willing to give you a quality book for a fair price

A CPA's Best Friend
As a CPA myself, I've had years of education and work experience in the corporate environment working with the financial statements. I understand all the aspects of each statement and how they relate to each other, as well as how ratio analysis plays a key role in understanding the health of any business.I've always had some difficulty explaining the financial statements & ratio analysis and their relationship in terms that a "non-finance" person could understand. In many instances, I'd get too detailed and I could see that I was loosing my audience. This book helps bridge that gap. In other instances, I didn't have enough time to sit down and fully explain everything from end-to-end to a "non-finance" person in order for them to fully appreciate the intricacies of the financial statements & how ratios are so important in understanding the health of a business. And when I've given them a 200+ page book that explains finance ratios, the "non-finance" person is turned off. Again, this book bridges that gap with only about 80 pages to understand the ratio analysis at a high-level.I highly recommend this book for the "non-finance" person who wants to step inside the brain of a "finance" person and gain a hi-level understanding of the financial statements & ratio analysis. I also highly recommend buying Axel Tracy's other books here on Amazon.
