Worked on my 2016 Freighliner Cascadia Evolution Automatic Transmission
I bought scanner to do Forced Regeneration on the Freightliner. The truck would not give me a pre indication that Regeneration was needed during continued weekly operation. I would just be driving and without any warning, emissions light and check engine light would just come on and truck would soon derate. So, I would pull over and park and hit the switch on the dashboard to start a Regeneration. It worked most of time. But I wanted a way just to Regen the Freightliner every weekend to keep truck running good through week. So I bought this scanner. I couldn't get it to do a parked generation at first. Also, no lights on dashboard ever indicated truck was in need of Regeneration. But after trying over and over and reading and trying to figure out how to make scanner tool work, IT WORKED! So like I said, no lights ever would appear indicating truck needed a Regeneration until it was absolutely necessary driving down the road and I would have to pull over and do a dashboard switch Regeneration. But since I bought tool and figured it out, I do a parked Regeneration every weekend and never have an issue during the week. I drive about 2500 miles per week. And been using tool 3 months. Disclaimer: Mayne my warning Regeneration light is not working. Because it has never come on like it's supposed to and give you a little warning Regeneration is needed. You know, the light will start to flash and warn you Regeneration is needed. Then the light will stop flashing and just be continually on.. then you know truck bout to derate. Well, none of that stuff has ever happened. So that's why I bought tool. My suggestions if you think it's worth giving it a try... plug tool in with key switch off... crank truck... wait 2 minutes.... press ok on scanner tool.... wait 2 minutes.... scroll to DEF option and select... wait 2 minutes.... select engine type... wait 2 minutes.... select Regeneration option.... wait 2 minutes.... hopefully scanner says press ok to start Regeneration. The scanner may say not compatible. This happened to me a bunch. You have to let scanner tool catch up with your truck ECM. The scanner tool takes time. All I can say, the scanner tool does work for me and will force the truck into a parked Regeneration WITHOUT one single light being illuminated on the instrument panel. I do it every week at the end of my 5 day work week. Usually on Saturday when I'm off work. I am very glad tool works. But it wasn't just simple. You have to necessary steps. Wait in between selections... let scanner tool catch up. At least 2 minutes in between selections. And your truck will beep and lights on instrument panel will go on and off. And plug scanner in before starting truck. And if you push button on scanner and nothing happens, scanner is not broken. It just has to catch up.

Pretty good but with limitations on Paccar engines.
I’m not going to remove a star for it as it works exactly as advertised but keep in mind if your using this on a Paccar it’s going to be pretty limited. No DPF forced regen is available which I don’t understand since it will do Cummins without a problem and Paccar is using Cummins emission components and though your can easily pull codes with it which is helpful, it won’t clear them even temporarily if the code is still active. Super easy to use and build quality is very good and it comes with a handy case and all the connectors you would need for big trucks and cars. This version also allows you to take a snapshot of a problem while doing a driving test. For anything Cummins, Detroit, Freightliner/Western Stat and International, it’s more full featured. Not sure on Volvo/Mac. It can be updated via USB but only on Windows, not Mac or Linux. Hopefully there is a future update that addresses the Paccar limitations.

For the price it’s worth getting for owner ops.
It doesn’t regen on the first try. You have to make sure everything is correct, like motor temp, brakes cycled, clutch pressed and etc. but it works. Also clears codes. I have a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia DD15

outdated software, software download not easy (buyers beware)
Hi,I bought scan tool for freightliner Cascadia with dd15 engine. if you have epa 10 engine than this device with connect to the truck. But if you have truck with 2018 engine up this unit is useless. I will not even clear codes or do force regen. it comes with lifetime updates but to download it is a process. But downloaded you try to update your unit and it will not connect. The service team ghosted you because they will not help but give you link to download. your unit doesn't connect and its useless. I try to reach out multiple times but no response. It says it comes with 5yrs warranty. service team ghost you have no support or warranty. Please don't waste your money on product because its useless.

Payed for itself after 3 uses. Buy it, cheap insurance
Payed for itself after using it 3days in a row. 2015 550 isx Cummings had issues with exhaust pressure sensor throwing a code, amber engine light would come on right after taking off in morning with derate in 3 hrs. It's a hard code that will derate engine and needs a service shop to clear code. This code reader is best 200$ I've spent in awhile. It would clear fault code and truck kept running rest of day. Not sure if I got bad exhaust pressure sensor cuz I replaced that & had line cleaned going to sensor at same time but so far it hasn't come back on. I highly recommend buying this, these sensor issues can throw a code & cost way to much money & time to have deleted by mechanic. This also WILL do a forced regen on your isx, but I think only if it shows that it needs one.

Paid for itself after 2nd use
Believe it or not this thing paid for itself after it's 2nd use, my cascadia wanted to shutdown with red engine shutdown light which means only a dealer can reset it, after two hours of frustration now I wouldn't recommend this, but I started pushing buttons, and.. viola! I was on the road without a $2000 tow to a dealer!! Now it's not gonna fix problems, but sure got me out of a tough situation that's for sure!! It doesn't have many options, but it works to clear codes and force Regen!! Absolutely what I needed!I didn't like the fact it tripped sensors and caused ecu malfunctions when attempting to connect and read, but key on and off fixes it, nothing is perfect.
