It's a little misleading to call these an "Alternative for Plastic Plates" because they are made of plastic. The hydrocarbons in this case come from chemically processing wheat straw instead of petrochemical products but the end result is still plastic, so if you are worried about microplastics, look elsewhere. Having said that, they work well as reusable kids plates for our 3 and 7 year old. They are a good size and the ~1" lip is a good depth to allow kids to scoop food against the edges without losing it onto the table. We've been running them almost exclusively in the bottom rack of the dishwasher for almost 2 years without issues with them warping or changing color. The one issue with using the dishwasher is that because the plates are made of plastic (in particular a matte plastic, not a shiny plastic), oils from foods like to stick to them more than ceramic or glass plates. Therefore, I find I need to hand scrub them with dish soap and a brush before putting them in the dishwasher if the meal had a moderate amount of oil in it. Maybe this isn't an issue for some dishwashers or dishwasher soaps but for our efficient, quite KitchenAid dishwasher it does seem to be necessary after some meals.

I have two senior small doggies. A terrier mix, Pearl, is 16 1/2. A chiweenie, Lucy, is 10.When I noticed that they were starting to have difficulty getting all their food from the bowl, I purchased new ones.have purchased so many different bowls for them over the years. Expensive stainless steel bowls that will last a lifetime. Less expensive, different shaped bowls. Mostly stainless steel.I tried paper plates. Soup bowls…I decided to try these plates because of their shape. A slight dip, but not so much as a bowl.They have been able to eat all of their meals in these plates! We put them in the dishwasher to ensure that they are clean. With eight plates we always have clean ones for them.I bought multi-colored plates, I enjoy the different looks.Whatever you want them for, these are well made, and the price can’t be beat!

We love these plates. Family loves that they have a lip on them, keeps things from rolling or spilling off plate. I love that they are dishwasher and microwave safe and good for the environment by not taking a lifetime to breakdown since they aren't plastic. They are a bit small, will look for a larger size for next set I purchase.

I really like these plates. Nice colors, love the high edges, and easy to clean. Took one star off for the smell. They have a very off putting smell that is still faint after many times in the dishwasher. Not sure how to describe it butmaybe as hay covered in plastic, idk. But overall, it's a great, sturdy set that I would get again, only under the assumption that the smell slowly fades.

We love these plates. Nice deep sides keep even saucy foods contained and no dripping or slipping off sides. Lightweight and great in microwave and dishwasher. The 11” are huge! The 9 inch are too small for dinner. Wish these deep dish style came in 10”, which would be perfect. Oh, well, the 11” work fine. We are older adults and we’re tired of handling heavy dinnerware. These are so easy to handle, sturdy and stack well in cabinet. Amazing they are made from wheat.

These dinner plates have a 9" diameter and are microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe, with a raised lip all around. All of that is excellent -- but I don't actually use them for eating. I love these matte black dishes as a base to be topped by lovely flameless pillar candles with a pretty floral or leafy candle ring: Gorgeous! They look eqjually sweet when filled with water and topped with sa few yellow rubber duckies! Lots of fun! Thank you!

For my grandkids. Very durable and they wash well! The colors are fun and I love the “lip” on the plate. Good does not slide off

These plates are exactly what I needed; sturdy, microwave and dishwasher safe, lightweight, good value and the perfect size. I also like that the edges are slightly raised, no drips.
