as a linux and windows user, my work issued me a macbook pro for development and i have no idea what the hot keys are or where i am going half the time. this is a perfect cheat sheet. highly suggested. it def blocks light and sucks to type on but thats the price you pay for learning. this isnt meant to be a long term rubber mat for your keyboard, its meant for you to learn system hotkeys and then get rid of it. highly suggested as a learning aid, not at all suggested as system protection or a cover for spills.

Good: The dirt and oils from my hands stays on the cover instead of the laptop. Easy to wash off with dish soap.Bad: Mostly blocks the keyboard backlight if you need it late at night with the lights down. Typing speed is reduced versus without the cover installed.

I had just purchased a 13" MacBook Pro Late 2016 model with the Touchbar. This is my first Mac so I am unfamiliar with the shortcuts. I purchased this keyboard cover mainly for the shortcuts marked on the keys.It has helped tremendously to learn the shortcuts, which are essential for ease of use of the Mac. The computer can be easily closed with the cover left on the keys and does not stick to the screen when opening the laptop. Easily removed and replaced. Must have for new Mac owners.The key backlights barely shines through, but the screen will light the keys enough to see when using in low light. Plus it takes a second to remove in that situation.

Love the double duty of this item. It’s a thin silicone layer protecting the keyboard from debris. It causes no issues with the function of keys or closing the laptop. The keying instructions have helped with keystroke functions I never knew about! The keys are still labeled but there is a slight sheerness for the lighter color where the key label will show through but it doesn’t make it difficult to use the keys or type. Would recommend.

This product would have received five stars; however, the wording is in Chinese not English. The description and photos show English. I will update if I receive the correct item next. I have one on my personal computer and purchased one for my work computer. Well, it’s useless for why I need it if it’s on a language I do not know at all.

I like the design, the feel ruins the keyboard experience, but that’s to be expected from silicon covers, but the one thing I can’t stand and will never understand is how none of these things allow for the backlight on the keyboard to work. What a waste. Just put the letters in a clear text and allow the backlight to shine through! But nope, you put this on and you won’t see your backlight unless you crank it to max. Sigh… the search continues
