A Great Phone for Seniors, this being my 3rd Panasonic, an easy set up for me. Great Value -Great Features-
Great so far, everything seems to work, have not used all 4 headsets yet. But all lit up and rang. Easiest of Panasonic Phones set up ever, almost took me as long to remove stuff from box, in order to preserve cardboard packing frame, in case of return. But in all seriousness within 15, 20 minutes I was entering numbers in phone list.As a Senior Citizen ? , I like the large bright display and that everything is in large print. The phone is laid out well and fits hand nicely, I have had a number of Panasonic phones all have been durable and delivered a long service life. But this one is something I' m excited about, the features are many and they so far are easy to locate on menu and set up.Not in my time of set up, I installed the phone list from my old set of Panasonics, and switched over a few call block #'s, set initial ring settings and got the phone up and operating. I did not set up Cell Phone as I am considering switching phones or get into some other features I may or may not use. This is a nice system without even counting the bonus feature of merging your Bluetooth Cell into the system Good value they last Panasonic a 3 Handset lasted about 8 years. As I am not making as many calls I expect this to last a lifetime. So for now 5 Stars, I don't usually give this rating on initial set up, but knowing Panasonic Phones and Amazon, THIS IS MY BUY OF YEAR. As always if something changes I will edit this.Note, when you see negative reviews on Panasonic systems and Amazon consider this that Amazon has many sellers and many people handling returns and so on . I have been an Amazon customer for over a decade, I have bitten the bullet on a few small things. But over all Amazon has been reliable as the best of USA retailers. I am a Senior on a tight budget, I don't have time for people who don't back up what they sell.If this review helpful please say so, I do not take free or discounted product's for my review's. I am a Panasonic Brand customer on things I use every day, my TV's, phones and blood pressure machine. The phones, one of the TV's and blood pressure machine all purchased from Amazon

These can be set up to stymie telephone scammers.
I have an older version of this phone, and bought this version for my mother to give her peace from the various scammers, etc. This phone does have a call block feature with 250 numbers, but with Caller ID spoofing, scammers can use any number, and 250 is a drop in the ocean against the number of possible phone numbers. This phone lets you do much better. Read on!These phones have a few features that can be used in conjunction to block scam callers. During one Sunday afternoon session playing chamber music with friends, I had twelve TWELVE! calls from cretins who had no legitimate business calling me. I'm glad we weren't recording. So, I set my phone up using three features... You do need Caller ID from your telephone company for this. Feature #1 is the silence first ring. The second feature is the phone book which holds 3000 contacts. The third feature is the silent mode (or sleep mode). In this mode, only contacts in your phone book can ring your phone. You might have to make sure this is set correctly and there can be more than one group in your phone book (see the instructions). I put my friends, family and business associates in my phone book. Then I set it to silence the first ring, which Caller ID needs to work, but I don't want to hear. Then I set my sleep mode to come on, for example, at 11:00 AM and go off at 10:59 AM. This leaves a one-minute period per day during which anyone not on my list can get through. This procedure, in effect, blacklists every number on the planet by default. Any legitimate caller can still leave a message, and the phones do light up when there is an incoming call, so you can choose to answer or ignore it. Landline Nirvana! Call Block that works!

Used this to replace an old Uniden system that also had 4 handsets
There are many improvements with the new system that are pleasing. Among them, the most pertinent are the MUCH longer battery life. My old system had gotten to the point that about 20 minutes was the battery life, forcing us to switch handsets on a long call. This new one promises 12 hours (depending on distance from the base). Nice! Another positive aspect is the fact that these units stand more upright, so it is easier to see the screen from a distance. That works good as long as the room is well lit, and you are within 3 or 4 feet of the handset, so you can read if there are any missed calls. Setup was another plus. I actually didn't need to review the instructions to physically set it up as once you've done one of these types of phones, you probably can set up any of them. I assumed the batteries would need charging at first, and that took a couple of hours to get to full charge as there was already a fair charge on them. Connections were exactly like the old set so no problem there. That's about all the positives I can think of for the moment.Oh, one other item I like about the product. My system that I have at home includes a separate call blocker that I wired between the wall and this Panasonic system. I won't go into detail about that, only to say that it blocks unwanted calls in a special way that is superior to any other system on earth. One of the things it does is if the caller is blocked, they get a message saying WHY they are blocked and at the end, if they choose to do so, they can leave a message. If a message is left, it is on the telephone provider's service. My phone never rings, and there is no message left on my equipment. BUT, if the call is not blocked, the phone then rings and if nobody answers they get the message on the Panasonic, to leave a message, etc. And if they do leave a message, it appears on the Panasonic's receivers and message system. With my OLD system, I would never know if a caller left a message on with the telephone service provider, I would only see a blinking light on the call blocker that one or more calls were blocked, but I would not know if there were any messages, unless I called the provider. With the Panasonic, it is wonderful because, somehow IT KNOWS a message was left, and says, "message left with telephone company" (or something like that). Before I had to call the special number to see if messages were left. Now I know at a glance. Considering that my call blocker has blocked over 8,000 calls in the last 10 years, that is a time saver! The negatives are few, and here those are. One is that the screens are hard to read because it's black lettering one gray screen, which for my eyes, that is harder to read. But that also likely means the screens will not get "memory" imprints on them too. So that negative is pretty minor, as most people should be able to read them just fine. The larger negative is one others have reported, (and, I bought it anyway), and that is the sound is slightly clipped on a call. That is words get a clip on each end of every word. You can still understand the words, but the clipping is noticeable. I think we've already gotten used to it though. I could be wrong, but I suspect the closer to the base you are, the less that is. The last thing is that the bases (both the main base and the remote bases) are so light that it would be really easy to tip them over trying to put the handset on the base. That definitely was not an issue with our old system. All in all, I am happy with the system and can recommend it.
