Nice alternative to chicken or tofu
These are so easy to prepare and you can add any type of sauce to them for flavor. My favorites are BBQ or stir fry sauce. I prepare chicken dishes for my family but I don't like chicken so these are a nice alternative.

Works really well as a meat replacement, much tastier than TVP
Strict vegetarians and vegans know soy curls are great, but if you're like me and still eat some meat, these are a good alternative that doesn't disappoint. I've tried TVP and just couldn't get used to the taste. I know there are ways to make it taste good, but I haven't found a way after trying a few bags. Soy curls taste much better with no work. If you need "ground meat," just crush these up.Nobody will be fooled into believing this is meat. It's different but equally good. The texture and taste are good, so I don't miss the meat. I've been soaking the soy curls in vegetable broth and a bit of ketchup for about 10 minutes, then straining and pressing them to get the excess liquid out. After that, I saute in a little bit of oil and these are ready to add to most recipes. Just don't cook them too long. After soaking, half a bag of soy curls is similar to a pound of meat. One major benefit these have over meat is that they're shelf-stable. You can have these in your pantry for weeks and they'll be ready to use with a little prep. Getting meat can be a gamble if I get busy for a few days at work; with soy curls and some other pantry staples like pasta and sauce, it's easy to throw a good meal together at a moment's notice.TL;DR for omnivores: Soy Curls are a great pantry staple and are worth trying, even if you love meat.

We enjoy the soy curls for our Sweet Baby Rays Soy Curl Recipe.
I have one recipe that we really enjoy and it uses the soy curls. I use one 8oz bag of soy curls. The soaked soy curls are cooked with spices including nutritional yeast with a little oil, about a tablespoon. The soy curls are added to over a pound of sliced peppers, all colors, and a little zucchini or eggplant and chopped onions which have been cooked in a little bit of oil. Then about a quarter cup of Sweet Baby Rays sauce is added and everything is mixed together. I serve that mixture over cooked WW spaghetti. Really delicious! I grow my own peppers so it is a great recipe to use them. I grow regular and mini size. By themselves, the soy curls have basically no flavor.

AMAZING.... except for the crumbs
I want to give it 5 starts because these are AMAZING. They are both healthy and delicious. However, i must give 4 stars simply because the crumbs at the bottom of the bag really are disappointing. if you try to cook them with the big strips it doesnt work because they will cook too fast and just become a charred crumb. and if you collect a bowl full of the crumbs and try to cook them all together you will find that they actually taste pretty bad. so yeah, it is kind of disappointing to know that 10%-15% of what your buying you just cant use and throw away every time. It would be great if they could figure out a way to sell these without them crumbling or including the crumbs in the sold product.

Incredible for Jerky!
I was making beef jerky for my run group and I have a vegetarian in our group. I had never made a vegetarian item so this was new and intimidating for me. I used a marinade I found online with these curls and it came out incredible. The other runners raved about it and our vegetarian loved it so much that I ordered more and surprised him when he ran out. Definitely a great product and worth the money.
