Sorry, I can't say for sure as it would depend on where across the ceiling you intend fitting but, if you are joining between two angled panels then I would think it would be OK. Apologies again for not being able to be of more help.

I don't think that it will lay completely flat due to the slightly rebated edges

No. Also be careful when bending it as it tends to snap easily.
