Great backup timer.
Very useful. I boil eggs fairly often, but I can't hear the water start to churn from my living room, so I often miss setting the timer. This gives me a backup that keeps me from having to guess when to take them off. So far I've found it to be pretty accurate, but you might need tongs to lift the timer up to the surface since the boiling water makes it hard to read.

Cute item...cooking process not always accurate.
Used this item for about a month and it is not always accurate regarding the cooking process especially if you use the lid on the pot. Suggestion, watch the cooking process closely.
