Useful little gadget.
I've used manual thermostatic switches before, they work well but a problem with them is that they only sample from the location of the switch, and the temperature sensor can be affected by the heat from the relay.Because this has a satellite remote which holds the sensor it'll sample from a distant location so the temperature is more accurate. It uses the 433.92mhz band (as do all radio remote home automation devices) and communication seems to be good. The switch itself is a passive switched passthrough, all the gadgetry is in the remote. It'll control both heating and cooling devices and can pair with several sockets. It MIGHT be possible to pair this with other manufacturers 433mhz sockets, but I haven't tried this yet.The remote takes two AAA batteries and I do have a slight criticism here... The battery compartment is unmarked as to polarity. It's fairly obvious how to install the batteries but still. The remote has a low battery warning and telltales for heat/cool & whether the switch is turned on.What I've done is put the remote low down so that the heating triggers to keep the temperature at floor level to 25c (for the Tegu), he seems to like the temperature but also was curious about the remote (curious and Tegus usually involves claws) but it seems to have survived unscathed. This is the reason why thermostats in houses are usually at head level, the thermostat will control the temperature on the sensor plane (ie it would set 20c at head level if that was its position, if the sensor is at floor level, the temperature 6ft up will be 3c higher or so).The display is quite easy to read but it's angles are poor, it has a green backlight which triggers on a button press. All in all a really impressive device which keeps a steady and exact temperature and easy to recommend. An added advantage is you can set up more than one circuit for a larger building just by buying more than one remote. Much simpler than tearing out electrical heaters and installing a central heating system for example.. Just use these.Highly recommended.Update: have now moved this to control the other parts of the flat since the granularity (the manual thermoswitch is x°C plus/minus 0.1°c, this is a whole °C) isn't fine enough. I've got it set up to a combined-hybrid heater - a 2000w convector heater and a 1000w radiant fan heater which is working very well and is a setup I used before. It provides plenty of heat but also provides airflow around the heated area. It also has the advantage of being audible. ALWAYS check the rating of heaters if you are going to do this - combined they have to be under 3100w to be safe (3250w is absolute max) - overloading sockets is a VERY BAD IDEA!If you are going to use this and you want a given temperature I'd suggest setting the device to +1°C over the target that way you've always got at least the target temperature.

Brilliant wireless thermostat
Absolutely brilliant thermostat, so pleased I made a decision to purchase it.I use it with an electric heater in both my office and conservatory. The heaters do have their own thermostats but they are difficult to set and not very accurate. I was regularly finding my office temperature was +3 degree Fahrenheit above my required temperature. The Nashone has resolved this problem. It is very easy to setup and use and is extremely accurate to within one degree Fahrenheit. Ultimately this must save me money on my electricity bill.

Works perfectly
Having spent my working life in manufacturing industry, I'm a bit of a process control geek when it comes to controlling things at home. This little thermostat-and-electric socket combo is brilliant for controlling an electric heater in a room. It's easy to set up, and once it's up and running it works perfectly. You set your target temperature (say 20C), your electric heater brings the room temperature up to 20C, then the thermostat switches the heater off. When the room temperature has dropped to 19C, the thermostat switches the heater on again. The best thing about it is that it's remote, so you're controlling the temperature of the room and not, as is often the case with electric heaters, controlling the temperature of the heater. You get a constant readout of the room temperature, with a precision of a tenth of a degree, and you can even see the overshoot and undershoot (usually 0.1C).Switching the heater on and off is fairly quiet, which is important if you're controlling the temperature of your bedroom overnight.Changing the target temperature is dead easy, so you might like to sleep with a target temperature of 17C, but bump it up to 20C when you want to get up.My criticisms are only very minor: getting the batteries in and out is fiddly, and the construction of the thermostat is rather flimsy, so it probably wouldn't survive being dropped onto a stone floor. Other than that - perfect.

This is a really great product!
This is a really great product!! We bought this to try and regulate the temperature in our extension as we were finding it difficult to balance the heating between the main house and the new build. This item was bought and plugged into a small electric blow heater and it works brilliantly. The target temperature is set and if the inbuilt thermometer falls below your setting, it switches on the blow heater for a few minutes bring the room back up to temperature. We plan to buy another one to go in our Pennine folding camper for those chilly evenings.

I had to return one, but its replacement is fine
At first, this item seemed spot-on. I tested it with a desk lamp and it worked perfectly, but when I connected a 2kW heater in my potting shed, it made a fizzing, crackling sound - this was obviously caused by internal arcing which is unsafe - arcing can cause fire.I've returned the item, but I'm tempted to reorder as it seems a perfect solution to frost-proofing.UPDATE - I bought another and all seems well, so the first one was a one-off.

Brilliant product, well worth the investment, easy set up but keep some spare batteries
I have read most of the reviews and must fall on the definitely positive side of the product. Despite some comments I found no problems setting it up, it works as hoped ie the desired temperature in a specific area away from heater. Brilliant.Very easy to set and use well worth the money.Downside. I find that the remote control thermostat eats batteries at an extra ordinary rate. Unit stops working after 10 - 14 days this is disappointing as once set up all it does is sit there lights off digital display on. Possibly “talking” constantly to receiver. That aside if you use rechargeable it is no hassle to keep on top of that minor user issue.Overall great product.
