Nargos Topping NX3s Digital HiFi Portable Headphone Amplifier (Black)

I bought the NX3 because I wanted to get best use of my new Phillips 9500 headphones; I wear hearing aids now, and I wanted the ability to control both the amplification of the gain ( voice and high end) and the bass, so I could get as flat a response as the tests showed they were capable of. The NX3 controls both, as well as precisely controls the overall volume, much better than my MacBook Pro. One notch up or down on computer was often too much. The vernier like knob on the NX3 gives very precise total volume control. The overall sound, by using the gain and bass control, or leaving them neutral, and also combing various amount of computer line out amping vs. Nx3 amping goes a long way to make that booming bass or shrill high fade away to what you personally feel is the correctly "equalized" sound and non distorted volume.It is easily recharged and lasts for hours in between. Do as they say and don't charge while playing. I was frankly amazed at how well it did the job and how well it is built. For the small investment, to me, it more than doubled the value of an already great headphone purchase.

I bought this to use with AKG K240 MkII headphones, rated at 55 ohms. My main goal was to be able to reduce battery drain on my Ipad, because I had to crank it way up to stream music from one of my favorite sources at an acceptable volume. I don't listen at very high levels--mostly classical music--and I didn't think that my headphones should be difficult to drive. As it turns out, even with the "gain" switch on the NX3S turned on and the volume turned to max I wasn't able to turn the volume on the Ipad down much, if at all.The fidelity of sound from the NX3s is good, and the bass boost is nice--not too much, just a nice compensation for the limited low end of headphones. The build quality of the NX3S is great for the price.If you're driving earbuds or something you can probably get all the volume you want from the NX3s, but if you're using larger headphones you might want to look for something with more amplification.

From the moment you see the presentation in the box, you can tell this is a high-quality item. Plugged into iPhone and it provides a nice clean boost, providing extra clarity and depth to the music. I also appreciate the small size, and build- quality really seems legit. Great job to the vendor as well for shipping an authentic and new Topping product.Fair warning: once you flip the "Gain" switch you will not want to flip it back off!Great job Topping.

Great quality little amp. I figured the bass boost would be over the top and walkman ish but it's super clean and just a nice nudge up in those low ranges. I'd definitely buy again and recommend to anyone who needs a 3.5mm signal amplified. This can work for anything afaik not just music. Rechargable and the battery lasts ages compared to my last amp.

Maybe whoever wrote that bad review was a competitor. This thing is awesome. I use it at work all day with my 250 ohm dt770 pros. I wish they made something for a 500 and up OHM headphone because then I'd carry around better headphones. But I love this thing. Doesn't run out of power and is very clear.

The only bad things is that it pops slightly when you turn it on if the usb cable is plugged in to charge. Sound quality is good, and it powers my Philips in-ear monitors and my Sennheiser 6XX just fine for my preferences.

save your time and money with these off brands , thought I would try something different besides my current portable amps never again ! the build quality feels good but if you like constant clicking ,popping, then this amp is for you ..and there is nothing wrong with the quality of my headphones and cables !

This is a perfect headphone amplifier at this price point. It almost seems a bargain! Gain control, bass boost.....absolutely noise free...no hiss, etc.. The sound quality is fantastic with a very tight precise and full sound. Highly recommended and I am a professional musician with very high standards for sound quality.

been using this for almost a year . I upgraded from nx1s to nx3s an yes the difference is amazing. Sounds pleasant with Hd800s and Yes they do get loud with highgain and about 60% volume at max vol source . I use it with my m11 and damn never had to go past 60 on the knob phones how ever even my blackshark3pro which has decent volume output may need up to 75-85% depending on music file and genre . ANYWAYS. im thinking of getting another one white/silver one :)
