Jati Umbra 3.5m Wooden Garden Parasol with Cover (Blue) - Octagonal, Double-Pulley, 2-Part Pole

Ordered on the Tuesday (in very hot sunshine) and arrived on-time on the Thursday (in torrential rain!) ... ho-hum?. Bought to replace one of similar size which, after twenty-plus years of use, had finally succumbed to the weather and wood-worm! Seemed the most expensive compared to all the 3m versions, but the quality looked better against the 3.5m ones available, and I wanted the larger size. Very sturdy and well made; fabric nice and strong/thick; pulleys make it easy to operate so absence of a wind-up handle not an issue; and the inclusion of a cover is a nice touch ... if it lasts another twenty years I will be happy!No other reviews so I though I would start the ball rolling.

So, I am on my second of these excellent parasols. The first one has given us seasons of use before a gust of wind lifted it up into the air and deposited on its side breaking 2 spars (my bad, we have got into the habit of not using a base).So, I ordered another one and while on the phone, I asked if I could buy a couple of spars to try and repair the existing one. After a couple of exchanges forward and back, my order can complete with 2 replacement spars from a broken parasol they had cannibalised for me and some heavy gauge wire needed for the repair.Thé photo here is of the new parasol, put up in such a way that the rope secures it to the 250kg outdoor table. Once up, I proceeded to repair the broken one - it all went perfectly and now I have 2!!!So, my advice is to buy the parasol. If anything goes wrong, you’ll get a real person giving real advice and offering real help behind the scenes. In this day and age, that’s exactly what you need.5 stars - it’s an ace investment.
