The cable feels a little cheap but it works. I did not use the CD. I downloaded the driver I needed off the internet and was able to get it to work on WinXp. I wasn't able to use it with CPS on windows 10. I will be trying it on Win7 later today to see if it'll work there.

Cable works, but be advised it uses an older prolific chipset (PL-2303HXA) that will NOT work with Windows 8 or 10.From Prolific's site - "Windows 8/8.1/10 are NOT supported in PL-2303HXA and PL-2303X EOL chip versions."

Not as advertised. This cable might work with other models, but not mtx8250.
