Wow! I have found a product and company that I love! Date Lady date sugar is the guilt-free way to sweeten your food. Not only is it delicious but it’s actually healthy for you. I use it on cold cereal, warm cereals like steel cut oats or regular oatmeal, in my homemade soy yogurt, and in all baked goods and desserts. It was perfect in my vegan pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. It does not dissolve in coffee or tea, but that is the nature of any date sugar, not just this product. I also had the pleasure of trying Date Lady organic dates . . . mind blown! At room temperature they are so very soft and gooey and delicious. Fair warning, it’s hard to stop at one or even 10! My favorite way to eat them though is after they have been in the refrigerator. They firm up to the exact consistency of eating a caramel, not kidding! This is basically a bag of healthy candy. Mmmm. Please note, these dates have pits in them which is a good thing because it keeps them moist. Now, about the company. This company is run by a lady named Colleen. Yes, Colleen! When have you ever known the name of the person who made your product? This is not a huge conglomerate of people who don’t care about their customers. They are concerned about your satisfaction and go beyond what you would expect to get it. This is exactly the kind of company with which I like to do business. Yay for Date Lady!

This stuff is amazing!! I bought this and the date syrup. I will say that I can't stand any sweeteners. Sugar is all I like so I can't even use the others they taste so gross to me. This is like amazing magic. I put it in a dip I make out of beans that tastes like choc chip cookie dough, I use it in smoothies along with whole dates, I put it in my unsweetened hot cereal from Love Grown and so many more things. Seriously my kids have no idea and I am so happy they are getting a fruit! I will use this forever as long as it stays delicious and GMO free!! I also got the choc spread for the kids and he first day I used a Gluten Free multi grain bread and put the spread on....they each had 3 slices!!!! Amazing that they and only good for them nuts, seeds, whole grains, fruit, cocoa and coconut oil. One happy momma here! That stuff tastes like donut icing!

Mine came rock-hard and most of it was very tough to break up. Even after hacking at it with spoons and a burger masher, I still have some chunks that I think I'll have to take a hammer to. The parts that are broken up still get put through a sifter since there are remaining small pebbles that have to be broken up. It's a lot of work for natural sugar. I have bought date sugar from Bob's Red Mill before and not had this issue. I'm not sure if it's a brand issue, or if it has more to do with how long my product sat in a warehouse before I received it. Once it is granular it works as I expect it to and is nice and sweet.

Great sugar for some sweet potatoes, and for baked goods. Not good for teas and coffees because it tends to thicken. Not a sweet as some organic sugar but much better than expected and much better for you since it comes from whole foods. Extra healthy but not quite as sweet as the alternatives, still deserving of five stars.

This was awful. I went in wanting to love it but I couldn’t even like it. No flavor and does NOT dissolve. I even boiled my tea on the stove for an extra ten minutes and it was as cloudy and sandy as ever and not sweet. I hear the syrup is good. However, very disappointed in this product.

This is so much better than regular sugar, its amazing. Ive tried some others like coconut sugar but unlike them, date sugar comes from the fruit itself. In fact, it is the fruit -- dried and then finely ground. That means it has the same amount of fiber as the whole fruit, as well as nutrients like vitamin B6, iron and magnesium. Since it's finely powdered fruit, it doesn't dissolve well in liquids like coffee of tea, but it is great added to other foods and can even be substituted at a 1:1 ratio in recipes that call for brown sugar.

I was hesitant to buy only because I wasn’t sure of the taste but I am surprised! The taste is good, it seems less sweeter than sugar which is great because you can always build up the sweetness taste and i love the texture, it’s very light, light than sand I would say. I put some in my cereal and it dissolved which i liked. I’m excited about this purchase!

I use date sugar extensively during baking as it adds a nice, subtle sweetness. However, as noted in some other reviews, this product contains pieces of date pits, which are very hard. I hope that quality control process has been improved to make sure that no customer chips a tooth due to the pits! I will stick to some of the other providers of this product in the meantime.
