How Do I Teach This Kid to Read?: Teaching Literacy Skills to Young Children with Autism, from Phonics to Fluency

I was really happy with the book but it requires the CD and it was not included. I was unaware of this when purchasing it so I was very disappointed. I would have given more stars if it was included.

I don't usually write reviews, but this book is so good, I had to take a minute to share my opinion. It contains dozens of brilliant ideas, projects and printables to help teach your autistic child to read. It has given us some much-needed hope. Thank you Ms. Henry!

This resource is written with innovative and valuable concepts to teach language arts to autistic children. The CD is an important tool as I can easily download the graphics that accompany the concepts. Thank you Kimberly Henry for writing this book. I use it constantly!

I use this book everyday! There is a CD with reproducibles to use. I have many file folder tasks in my classrooms that have come from this book and other tasks set up that came from this book. It is a great buy!

easy to follow

I’m using this as a resource for a college course I’m teaching.

This book is full of ideas on how to teach reading to students with autism. Book comes with CD with printables to use with activities suggested. This book is great!

A must for educators and parents of all young children with autism or with. Language difficulties. I constantly share this resource in my position as an educational consultant.

This book has many practical ideas for teaching pupils with autism to read. As it's American some of the suppliers quoted do not send to the UK - but equivalents can usually be found. CD is also useful, but irritatingly the files are only numbered and not cross referenced to the activities in the book so some guesswork required. I have gone through the book and written the CD file numbers in on the relevant pages.

Very good resource and I like the editable resources that can be downloaded.

great book

Very disappointed with this book. I expected some research based strategies to help my students with autism. Instead it is a collection of outdated, simplistic activities. A quick Google would have been more helpful.

Arrive quickly and is an awesome text.
