I tried infared motion detector/photocell bulbs inside my light fixtures. The photocell part worked fine (on/off at dusk/dawn) but the motion detector part never did. These radar bulbs use a different part of the spectrum and aren't affected by the light enclosure or glass. Both the motion detection and the photo ell aspects of the bulb work great even though they are enclosed in a frosted glass light fixture.

These are cool, but for a specific application because they sense through solid walls. For a light out of the common traffic pattern, these are great. The lamp in the room next to my bedroom comes on when I move around more than just a little in my bed.

Serves exactly how it should be as dusk to dawn motion sensor...lighting up my driveway after dark with any kind of motion and not all the time..

bought these for an outdoor sconce that was not motion activated; this light bulb is amazing! so bright! and only turns on when there is motion.

Perfect for my outdoor application. Comes on when deer or other animals come too close to the house scaring them away.

I installed one bulb at the end of my driveway and one bulb by my front door. The first one started flickering after one month, and the other one burnt out completely after 2 months.
