The price reflects the quality
what I was looking for when I purchased this mini flat iron was a basic flat iron with a medium temperature and thin blades. I have thick short hair that has been thinned and basically only "tame" my long-ish bangs. For the price, I expected nothing fancy. Only usable.Over a couple week's use, I observed the following:1) the iron doesn't heat up enough. Since it doesn't have a temp you can select, it's a guessing game. I believe temp reached 250 or 300 at best. As I mentioned above, the amount of hair I need to straighten is minimal. It definitely wasn't cutting it2) the blades shift from side to side. There is a lot of 'play' at the attachment point which makes it difficult to keep the straightener in proper position while working with it3) the heating elements are rough cut and, when clamped down, will pull hair. Forget the other two 'inconveniences' I listed above. This really proved to be a problem and got worse the more I used the flat iron. The heating elements are inset in the plastic handle and protrude slightly higher then the handle itself. The ends of the elements aren't polished and the glaze has peeled off, revealing jagged silver edges that, when pressed together, will not allow for hair to slide smoothly in between and will instead pull. I have attached some pictures.I was bummed. At first I thought maybe these mini-irons are just not as quality as the larger units I have owned before. After a couple weeks of use, I could no longer deal with it and returned the flat iron. I did purchase another product (the mini-Red) which I absolutely love and it was only a few dollars more.

It works fine and is super tiny
It works fine and is super tiny, however it really doesn't get that hot, which makes this a very time-consuming flat iron to use. That's the only reason for 3 stars. I have to constantly keep going over the same areas to have it actually work. If the iron could be hotter, problem solved.

This tiny straightener is AWESOME for pixie cuts
This tiny straightener is AWESOME for pixie cuts. My hair is really short, but has a cowlick (is that what it's called?) on one side, so I use this to straighten it out and it works great! I do wish it had an auto shutoff, as I have forgotten to unplug it a couple times, but the carrying case is handy and it's a great price!

Worked great
Took this to Italy with me and worked great. The compact size was nice for travelling. Just be aware that because of its small size, it does take a little longer to use--the ceramic plate is only about the size of your index finger. If you have really thick hair, it might take awhile, although it does get hot enough. The case is a nice feature. When it arrived I wished it was heat resistant, but this ended up not being a problem.

Weird place for on switch
This is okay but the on/off switch is on the inside where the hot iron is! What? You mean to tell me it couldn't have been placed on the side or top of the iron. You really have to be careful or you'll get burned. I've never seen anything like it. Weird.

Do Not Buy This
While it is absolutely the perfect size for traveling - it does not work. Like it actually makes your hair look worse than if you'd just brushed it and called it good. I would not recommend this to anyone, and I would return it if I still could. I regret not testing it out sooner.

Great travel iron!
Great travel size flat iron. Heats up and cools down quickly. The plates are smooth and don't pull hair. The purple color is nice too, makes it easy to spot in luggage.
