Sturdy and reliable
I bought these for my project to make a home made 737 cockpit and they are perfect. The indents on the rotation is perfect, not too tight not too loose. The button press feature is just right too. I am very happy with them. The seller is recommended too, good value and delivered on time.

No Knobs
Description clearly details that knobs are included and shows them in the pictures. That's why I bought these and not the bare units elsewhere. I guess they count on nobody sending them backDisappointing

Work very well - with the right software
These devices allow a microcontroller to determine which way you are turning the spindle, so you can, for example, increase or decrease volume, brightness or tuning frequency. You probably have one or more of these built into the radio or air-con of your car.I'm (probably) going to use one to adjust the temperature in my workshop. My YouTube video on this device (number #226) shows you how to use it and how to cope with the inevitable switch bounce you always get from mechanical switches; in that respect these are no different.They also have a push-to-make switch built in, so you can use that in your program to "set" a value. All pretty simple to do using an Arduino or ESP32.Pricewise, these are "OK" for a UK supplier; yes, they are cheaper from the Far Eastern warehouses but these days they charge VAT / customs so the price advantage they once had is being eroded; it's as easy to order from Amazon and you get it the next day!I also like the fact that these KY-040 devices have pullup resistors already built in; it just makes the whole setup that bit easier.No complaints from me.
