Safety, design and quality concerns
The product looks well built, packaged nice and comes with great instructions. However, on the second test set up, I had a U-bracket break at the stick connection. The bracket broke in half where the fastener goes through. I’m not sure if it was faulty upon arrival. Maybe the bolt was over tightened and caused a weak spot..?? Either way it was attached to the tree and I had all my weight (205 lbs) on it when it snapped. The instructions tell you not to jump or bounce to set the stick, which I didn’t. I have requested an exchange for a second set, being I couldn’t find info to request a new bracket. I’ll provide an update on how the second set works out.

Perfect
*Edit* After using the sticks the bottom will kick out if the stick sags down the tree much at all. I took a drill bit that barely fit in the Versa Button hole and drilled out new holes exactly 2" down. I still think they are a good stick and am buying another set so I can carry six with me.These steps are great. Very solid construction. You have to assemble one of the sticks. So while you are putting that one together, go through and tighten all the stand-off screws and step screws really tight on the other three sticks. Using an aider trick that goes around the right boot, then hooks on the button or top step, I can easily get four feet between sticks. Or, you can use a single aider on just the bottom step and still get high enough up the tree. I stacked the sticks on top of each other, and they are right at six feet tall. So even 18" between sticks, with an 18" aider on bottom will get you 15' in the air.

With a little modification these sticks work great
I like the climbing sticks. The price was good and I bought the bundle package from Amazon so they made it a little cheaper. They stack easily and are easy to carry. The system for holding the sticks together works well and is quiet. Grips the tree well. Feels very sturdy and durable. My only complaint is with location of the post for securing the sticks to the tree. It has an upper and lower one but really only needs one that is closer to the center. It’s an easy modification but worth the trouble. For the price I don’t think you can go wrong with these sticks.

Good climbing
They hold good. They attach nicely. They seem very sturdy when standing and climbing on them. They don’t bow in or seem like they will break.

Bottom Step Kicks Out
I received my sticks and looked them over, read the instructions and put together the last stick. The next morning I put on the safety harness and tested them in a tree in my yard. I got the first stick up using the straps included and not having a pull ratchet is a bit different, but works. I noticed the bottom would kick out. I got about 3 sticks up and began my decend while removing the sticks. It was very uncomfortable with the bottom kicking out I was worried the stick would slide or give.I went to my order on here and began reading comments. I saw a video posted and someone drilled a new hole for the versa 3" down from the top versa and moved it.This solved my issue with the kick out even using the stock straps. Hopefully they change their design and move it down or include 2 straps per stick.

Unsafe
Poor quality. On second hunt with them I had 2 break at the v bracket that grabs the tree. I only weight #150. Thankfully I was attached with my lineman’s belt. They did pack nice and liked the compact design.Bought them because of price and wanted a smaller stick. Will stay with my lone wolf sticks for now. Do not recommend.
