I've had this for awhile now and wanted to try it out before writing a review. This speaker has nice weight to it, feels quality. I actually love the strap to carry it. The sound quality is great, it charges pretty quickly and stays charged for a couple hours or three. I run a radio station through my phone to it because I live in the mountains and stations don't come in very well. I am very please and will think of this for future gifting. For the money it was a great buy. I would highly recommend!

For the modest price, quite wonderful. Sound is full and rich, good volume, battery life impressive (though maybe not quite what is claimed in the promo). Easy to turn off the "disco" lighting, and it STAYS off. Controls are legible. On, off, and "connected" indicator sounds are not unpleasant.

Amazing sound for the price and you can really hear the difference with the Bass boost option.

I have always ascribed to the philosophy that if I’m going to listen to something, I require it to reproduce the One True Sound. In other words, as close to the original sound as possible. And I listen to music literally all day, sometimes all night also.Bluetooth speakers by definition are a compromise and will never be a substitute for a Real Sound System, but some manufacturers perform a lot better than others. And it is an undeniable fact that Bluetooth and wireless speakers are getting far better.In the last four years alone, I have handled, listened to, tested and experienced hundreds of Bluetooth speakers and have written quite a few reviews. I bought a lot of them. Paid money. Some over $500.I will rarely mention competitors' products but might "hint" at something.Other reviewers have made excellent observations and comments, and I will simply add my own.I have previously purchased DOSS products and was very disappointed. I returned the speakers immediately, thanks to Amazon's generous return policy.This particular DOSS speaker is the best one I have heard so far, but I mention that with reservations.I usually connect to Amazon Echo Show devices during the day, and this DOSS speaker connects easily and stays connected. The connections "noises" were reasonable, unlike some speakers that make obnoxious and loud noises.I spent many days listening to this speaker and allowed it time to break in to be sure I was giving it a fair review.The high frequency is "good", nice clarity and just a *bit* harsh, which I happen to prefer. (I like to hear crashing cymbals, just like they sound for example) Vocals are very clear.Mid-range has something missing, just not quite accurate, just a bit off.And the real problem: If you are going to copy a competitor's speaker, advertise "rich bass" with Extreme Boom on the back of your speaker, plaster *BOOM* all over the box the speaker comes in, you should deliver. That other speaker with "boom" in the name (hint) REALLY DOES have BOOM, and it does it with a slightly smaller and nearly identical looking case and handle. And when it's on sale, it is significantly cheaper than this speaker. I played them both side by side, and the difference is remarkable.The BASS button does next to nothing on my speaker. Bass is next to non-existent at low volume levels like another reviewer mentions.Stereo separation is excellent.Since the other speaker has an embedded equalizer application which really improves it over the out of the box "signature" settings, I can't help but wonder if this speaker would perform better with some adjustments. I'm actually quite certain that it would.This speaker does get pretty loud and will do an adequate job outside. Battery life is good. Can't comment on water, I never get my speakers wet.I don't happen to like lights on most speakers (the Pulse is the exception) and I would prefer a way to turn the lights on this speaker off, but that is my preference.A good effort by DOSS, and one of their better speakers, and if I wasn't aware of and own speakers in this price range that sound better, I would have liked it more.I actually would have given this speaker 3½ stars based on the claim of "extreme bass" which is simply not true, but that option is not available.

Excellent sound

It definitely has a great sound! It's got some weight to it, but the shoulder strap is handy!

This speaker is perfect! I love the sound and it holds a good charge. Very heavy but well made. One of the best sounding speakers I've ever owned or even heard. I will probably order myself one since this one is my husband's Christmas gift. Very good bass. I hate the high pitch ones.
