Q: can I use two layers of these in my range hood to absorb cooking odors?

I really do not know, but. they are a small enough size that two should fit there.

Q: How are used filters disposed of? Are they compostable, recyclable, or land-fill?

I just put them in my trash and they take it to the transfer station.

Q: Can these be placed between the bag and the can?

Yea but I would put it on the inside of the lid for better odor control. I have it inside of a stainless steel trash can on the inside lid. Works great

Dont know. Use mine for outside
