Well-Crafted E-Book of a Shakespearean classic
The book starts with a useful overview before launching into the material itself. The play itself is what one would expect. However, the most useful feature of the E-Book is its hyperlinked explanations of Shakespeare's famously contorted prose. I used this book along with an Audible recording to teach a middle school class, and the combination of audio and electronic media really added spice to the class versus just teaching the written text. I think it was even better than watching a film of the play (though, obviously, not as good as going to an actual play). Most importantly, it also enhanced my personal enjoyment of the play.

Gift
It is so simple to find any classic literature and purchase it for my Kindle. This was for my husband in preparation for a presentation we were giving after traveling to Venice, and wanted to recapture Shakespeare's references to that amazing place. Jack loved having it so quickly and easily available.

Remembering history
_Merchant_ is a hard play to swallow -- brilliantly written and scathing in content. One worries about the futures of all the characters, most of whom are so flawed as to inspire only pity for their respective beloveds. The deus ex machina ending, in which Portia conjures happiness all around out of thin air -- except, of course, for Shylock, is merely bewildering.Yet _Merchant_ should not be forgotten. One gets the impression that Shakespeare *wanted* his audience to be uncomfortable with some of the horrible prejudices depicted, and one definitely feels challenged. In addition, the extent to which we have moved on from the anti-Semitism so apparently cavalierly brandished in this 'comedy' leaves us with the responsibility to remember and be aware of prejudices that could be recalled to life, given the wrong stimuli.I bought my Kindle edition for a "Shakespeare Sundae" dessert + reading, and was very pleased with its formatting and readability. The price is right, too.

Enjoyed it.
I'm glad to have this play on my Kindle. I had recently heard "The quality of mercy"read aloud, and wanted to have a copy so I ordered the "Merchant of Venice" and enjoyedreading the whole play.Very good buy.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I purchased this to fill in for copies my students had lost last year. The size of the book lead me to believe that the print size might be a bit easier on the eye. I could not have been more wrong.Although the pages are large 6x7, the print is minuscule--about 7-point font. That's not the worst. THERE ARE NO LINE NUMBERS OR DEMARCATIONS FOR ACT OR SCENE....Just page after page of tiny font dialogue that begins on page 2, and ends on page 71.

Plot Twists Everywhere!
I wasn't exactly looking forward to reading this book when we were assigned it in school, but we just finished it and I really like it! It mixed sadness, comedy, mad dramatic irony all in one book! Well done Shakespeare!

Controversial but beautiful
The play being considered controversial does not detract from the beautiful language used throughout. Still timeless and utterly enjoyable in every way.

Very helpful edition for students and teachers
The condition of the book was good and as described. I am a big fan of the cambridge school shakespeare series because it offers a variety of approaches to the great but not always easily accessible classics.

Il testo non ha nessun valore, contiene termini che non esistono in inglese, una bella fregatura da 0.99 euro. Vorrei essere rimborsata, ma non sarà possibile.
