Surprisingly good chainsaw
I use a chainsaw a lot - and I bought this one because I had some problems with the chain-guide for my trusty old Stihl petrol chainsaw.I bought this WORX one, as it is so light, compared to a petrol one, and for pruning the trees where you have to climb them first - it makes it a lot easier - cuts through branches up to 40cm like a hot knife through butter. (useable blade is only around 15-20cm long, so you need to cut from both sides to go through the wider branches or trunks.I've only used on softwoods so far, (Eucalyputus and Pussy Willow, mainly), but I did sadly have to remove a hardwood Damsen Tree, (dead), and whilst I had cut it down with the Stihl, I cut it in to logs with this, and it cut them very well.I had worried it would churn through batteries, (and yes, it does take a lot of power), but a 4mAH battery lasts 20 mins or so of continuous-use, (make sure you have chain-oil though for extended use !!!), and so I bought a couple of chunky spare batteries, which really helped me out.One little niggle though - the packaging says that you can get a pole to extend its reach - so you can benefit from its lightness, and cut higher branches without climbing - that would be BRILLIANT, however it is not possible, (at least if it is, I can't see where you could attach the pole - if anyone knows how I can do that, please hit "reply!"

Don't expect same results as a petrol chainsaw
I use this for light pruning the heavier branches of my hedges, and pruning my fruit trees. Its nice and light and does what I need it to do. Also has an optional extension pole which I also purchased and find difficult to use as is very top heavy. It combines well with my other worx tools batteries. I've been using worx for about 15 years now and find them a solid brand. For light work this is a perfect chainsaw, but it does jerk and hop a but largely due to power/rpm limitations associated with batteries. I'd definetly recommend petrol for a professional. But this is fine for light use

Great tool, but chainsaw oil not included
This was an impulse buy for a difficult job I had to clear a part of my garden. I already have many of the Worx cordless tools so didn't need another battery or charger. I therefore thought once it arrived I could get straight on with the job at hand.Unfortunately what isn't made clear is that Worx do not include any chainsaw oil in the box, but do say that running the saw without oil will result in serious damage. It seems reasonable to assume that most customers would not have any chainsaw oil in their garage so why not make it clearer or even include a small amount in the box.I of course ordered some oil which arrived the next day but due to work I didn't have a chance to use it until yesterday. Its a great tool, quiet and very easy to use. Just a shame the initial impression was so frustrating hence a four star review. Had oil been included it would have been five.

Happy Bunny....
I'm only a garfening novice and chainsaws scare the life out of me, but I had several jobs to do and my gardener was constantly busy so i took the plunge...I already had 2 Worx batteries and a charger unit as I just brought one of their strimmers, so I only needed this unit - happily the same batteries work for both.I took the plunge and removed several overhanging branches etc. I have some larger trees and in the winter I always get some fallen branches, so I feel better prepared now. It's easy enough to use and cuts with ease. Please PLEASE be VERY careful using a chainsaw and don't forget to order some 'chainsaw oil' because you must use/fill it before use (easy really). I ordered a 1 litre bag of oil off amazon at the same time. After a few hours I've only used about 300ml.Great product and a great battery system from Worx. I'm wondering if I dive in and buy a hedge-cutter now...🤔

Great chainsaw
I was a bit perturbed first off because it seemed that no oil was coming through to lubricate the chain. I rang Worx wanting to know just how long you needed to run the saw before any oil appeared. They didn't seem to know. I'd already run it for a minute so I decided to press on and after 2-3 minutes the oil did, in fact, come out. I've cut a few trees down and it works effortlessly. Great product but it would have been helpful if the instructions said how long to run it before the oil appears; I didn't want to damage the device by running it dry.

Great apart from oil leak
This is a brilliant chainsaw that cuts even pretty big trees down, and I recommended it to people. However after hanging it on a hook over winter, it leaked oil everywhere. Maybe I should have stored it flat, and maybe all chainsaws have this issue, but two stars knocked off while I investigate why it leaked.

Easy to use and pretty much fool-proof!
I'm in love with this chainsaw! I'm a recently retired female with a lifelong fear of chainsaws, but I also have a growing pile of dead wood that I've collected for my log burner and rely too much on a friend to help me out with things like log cutting and tree pruning. I recently bought a Worx lawn mower (which I am also very pleased with) and having the batteries, decided it was about time I pulled myself together and got on with it. I confess, I bought it nearly 2 months ago and have only just plucked up the courage to actually use it..... Anyway, having got long suffering friend to check that I'd assembled it properly (I had) and show me how to use it, I've just been happily slicing and stacking logs quickly and easily, and now that rain has stopped play, decided to come inside and write this review. The chainsaw is compact and light weight but with a robust feel to it. It's quiet when running - much quieter than petrol models - starts at the press of a button and it stops instantly when you let go of the button. I haven't tried it on anything bigger than about 5 inches diameter yet, but it cuts so easily I imagine bigger logs won't be a problem. Most importantly, I feel safe using it, and can therefore confidently recommend - if I can manage it, anyone can!
