My wife went into labor a year and a half ago and that labor went very quickly....so quickly that she ended up giving birth on our bed in the presence of EMTs. We then went to the hospital where I stayed overnight with my wife and new baby girl. The next day, once things had clamed down, I went home to clean up before they came home. For those who have witnessed or gone through child birth, you know what a mess I arrived to. For those who haven't, suffice to say there are many different types of fluids and a lot of them. Let's just say I was fully expecting to be purchasing a new mattress. To my amazement, once I'd bagged our sheets and this mattress pad, our mattress was perfectly fine. I bought another one immediately and will continue to use this brand as long as it exists. I challenge anyone to put it through a more rigorous test and I'm positive it can stand up to some sweat or your child's pee in the middle of the night. I just bought this last night and it’s already done its job. As someone that’s new to endometriosis, fibroids, and perimenopause, I really needed a mattress protector that could stand up to breakthrough bleeding.Nighttime is an actual nightmare. During that special time, I wear all the right protective gear to bed but it’s often never enough. I ruined my previous mattress protector by putting in the dryer with too much heat and it melted so I ordered this one urgently. The review that sold me was the guy whose wife delivered a baby and this protector saved the whole mattress. He was NOT LYING!! I’ve already had an accident, I removed my sheets and new mattress protection that I’ve had less than 12 hours and absolutely NO blood on the mattress.I can’t recommend this enough. I’ll update my review if anything changes but so far it’s perfection.

It’s great !!Thankfully I had gotten it on the mattress right before my toddler had thrown up all over the bed ..also had spilt ice cream .Took it off ; no spots on the mattress and it came perfectly clean in washer !! Would definitely recommend!!

I have these on all of my mattresses now. The oldest has been on for about 3 years now. They've held up great. I love how soft they are, and they don't make any crinkle noises when I'm trying to sleep.When washing them, there tends to be some water droplets still stuck in there after the spin cycle, but that's more of a testament to how well they work for keeping any liquids from going through.

This is a great topper to protect our mattress as we have a senior dog who sometimes "leaks" urine in her sleep.Some customers mentioned an odor when they opened up the packaging but to me that was not strong enough to be bothered and it was gone after the initial wash!The fitted corners are generous and the quilted top is nice too. The waterproof layer is just below that and I feel confident that this will protect our queen mattress.We als got dog diapers for our girl and find she's dry all night now too, so a bonus!!

This is my second purchase, to give as a gift to someone I know who has an adult, special needs child who has occasional nighttime accidents. Why do I feel so confident to give it as a gift? Because, recently, I was eating in bed and spilled a very dark sauce on my sheets. Judging by how soaked-through my sheets were with the sauce, I assumed the sauce had to have soaked through the mattress pad and onto the mattress. NOT AT ALL. The rest of the sauce was all absorbed in the top layer of the mattress pad! In other words, NONE of the sauce got onto my mattress! I washed the mattress pad just with regular detergent - I didn't pre-treat nor use any stain removers - and the stain came out completely in the wash! My only complaint is that it is a little crinkly (but not too crinkly) and it's not as breathable as other mattress pads. So, if you're a VERY hot sleeper, you might not want this.
