Works as expected
I had the need for one of these as my modern PC cannot support headless video of any decent resolution when connecting using software such as VNC and I didn't have a spare screen to leave plugged into it. The dongle works straight away and I was able to connect to it with a 1920x1080 resolution. Reducing to lower resolution works and is sustained upon reboots. For the small cost of this item its a handy gadget to have around.

Works Really Well
I recently upgraded my GPU and for one reason or another, my old GPU (a GTX 970) did not seem to care that it was headless with nothing plugged in, but my new GPU (a GTX 1660 Super) seemed to care an awful lot more. I got green screens whenever I tried to launch games, my remote desktop would constantly freeze and crash. Stumbled across this and thought I'd give it a go - plugged it in and sure enough all issues were resolved. Automatically detects it as a 1080p display at 60Hz. Really good little device, especially for the same price as a coffee! Would highly recommend to anyone running any kind of headless set up (a set up with no display plugged into the machine).

Works Great for VNC Server on a rpi 3b
For less than four quid it enables a proper display over a VNC connection from my 3b raspberry pi to a viewer on a Mac. Brilliant!*** A few days later *** just bought another one, raspberry pi's I could only get to through a SSH session, I can now reach with a full 1920 x 1080 Desktop - why didn't anybody tell me about this ?

Emulates a full HD monitor
Laptop resolution 1366x768 and an application did not display correctly at this resolution. Windows did not offer a higher resolution.#Plugged this in and it appears as a 'TV' with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. I could then change the laptop resolution from 1366x768 to 1920x1080 so that the application displayed correctly. Did exactly what I wanted it to do.

Great for Splashtop!
On work from home days, we connect to the office pc using Splashtop remote connection. This is like an exact video feed of my office pc. Sadly my work pc only has one monitor, but I have two monitors at home. This little device tricks my office pc into thinking it had two screens. So when I connect from home, I can use both of my monitors! The device is plug and play, it appears as a monitor option. It is very niche, but it's great this exists. It is just a simple HDMI plug connected to a few resistors, so you could totally bodge one together if you had an old HDMI cable and a few components. However this is only 4 pounds and it just works.

Solved my Teamviewer problem
This little device saved me no small amount of frustration with a lagging mouse cursor and keyboard when connecting to a remote PC.I'm a Linux noob but decided to install it on a spare PC that was going to run as a networked device without a monitor, using TeamViewer to access the desktop as required. After installing the OS and setting-up TeamViewer, it was working perfectly until the moment I decided to remove the monitor and move the Linux PC to its proper location. Upon rebooting, TeamViewer lagged awfully - both mouse and keyboard.Google was full of answers, but none worked for me.By chance, I came across a post saying that the problem could be occurring because there was no monitor attached to the remote PC, what with TeamViewer requiring some form of output from the graphic card to work properly.I saw this virtual display adaptor on Amazon and thought that I would give it a go. It worked perfectly! Very much worth the small price I paid.

Headless dummy plug
If you're trying to fool a GPU... or in my case using a broken screen laptop for remote connections. This works wonders. it's just plug and play, no drivers or anything like that.a 1080P display is detected straight away, no compliants, works perfectly.

Works perfectly fine connecting to a 1080
I bought this to connect to a Windows PC at work that I have tucked away in the corner of my office ever since switching to a MBP.Has only been a week but zero issues connecting via chrome remote desktop and parsec so far, completely plug and play. I'll update if I run into issues.

Helped me big time with remote desktop
I have a couple PCs on a KVM switch that I generally just access via Chrome Remote Desktop. It turned out that whatever PCs were not active on the KVM would not work well with Remote Desktop, with the resolution and screen quality being forced very low. By adding one of these to each PC, as well as being connected to the KVM on another port, remote desktop now works perfectly all the time.
