Heavy duty .. easy to use .. great directions

Bought it for my husband..he seems to love it..says it works great..only complaint is it comes with a flimsy bag to put it in so I got a plastic tub so it doesn't get banged around.

I researched microscopes a lot and knew I needed a high resolution to really be able to see cells etc. This microscope turned out to be great. My 9 year old is looking at EVERYTHING! I love it because you can just look with a low magnification at a wing or bug leg and it's like a fantastic magnifying glass, or you can switch the magnification to 2500 and see cells. It comes with a bunch of premade slides and extra slides and cover plates. It also comes with a phone holder to take photographs through the lens, and an attachment to see images on the computer. I had one like this when I was little and I am super pleased that it turned out to be great. It's also excellently packaged, so arrived in tact. I'd definitely recommend this!

Complete piece of junk. Can see light, can see dust, but can't see anything on the specimen slides. It was a Christmas present to stepdaughter; we didn't open it until after, so missed the return window. The minute I opened it and realized the cheap, poorly written instruction "manual" (hah - it's a brief useless piece of trash - was written by foreigners, I could have figured this was junk. Junk!!

Got this to get a good look at soil. The overhead light basically doesnt illuminate anything. The photos included are only visible due to the use of a powerful external flashlight. The zoom is quite impressive. You can actually see things like germs and bacteria. Pretty cool! I think I will have to invest in a lighted petri dish. I should have gotten a clue from the lack of a solid color slide or base. You need an opaque white or black base slide for the kind of stuff I am looking to observe. The usb camera is a nice touch. You really can just open your camera app(win 10) and instantly look at things. The software comes on a mini cd which I didnt bother with. If you search "StrangeView app for pc" you can find the software pretty easy. I dont think I have the driver as I cant adjust certain settings within the app. The photos were taken through it. Seems ok enough. records video too. I.... didnt bother with the instructions.... My head started hurting. Just turn stuff and press stuff. Easy enough to figure out. Build quality is pretty solid if you arent a spastic. Treat it like a microscope and it will be there when you need it. I DID notice the overhead light seems to flicker during adjustment sometimes. I just got it last night.... Will update the review if it dies.

Solid, this is a legit lab scope, has basically all the bells and whistles (and then some). Great value.

It is definitely smaller than I would prefer. I appreciate that it is light weight. I have to say that if you are looking for a microscope to do incredibly detailed work, this one is not for you! I have worked with microscopes in my work life for many years so I might be a bit biased. I needed a home microscope for school purposes and didn't want to spend too much. I haven't had a chance to prepare my own slides yet but I have to say the prepared slides they provided aren't the highest quality. I did a preliminary test slide and got better results but as you get to the higher powers, the sharpness isn't great. The course and fine adjustments work as expected but moving the slide around the stage is clunky at best and isn't as easy as I would have hoped. The lowest power level is designed to make it nearly impossible to clean so that is also a negative. The instructions say that the Mac Computer app should "automatically load". It does not. After some internet searching - it appears to not have an app for Macs. That is disappointing since that was a function I was looking forward to. Overall it will work and isn't overly expensive but if you need something that needs to be used diagnostically or medically - this is not for you.

This was so well packaged. I couldn't wait to get started.it comes with blank slides and covers,I made a few slides while also looking at the ones it came with. Nothing was wrong with it,tried the colored filters and learning my way around everything.very pleased. Great for older children and adults.
