Non-abrasive and perfect for all dishes
Since these are silicone, the sponges can be used on metal pots and pans. I'm not sure what some reviews were referring to about not holding soap, but I fill the sink up with hot water and soap, and by the time I get to the pots and pans, all the food and debris have softened up, and wipes right off. Also, because my dishes are in soapy water, I don't need the sponge to absorb the water because my dishes are soapy when I pick them up to wash.

Meh for dishes, great for cat barf on carpet
My SO uses a truly absurd amount of dish soap when washing dishes. I thought maybe it was because the regular sponge was soaking it up and it made it seem like there was less soap than there actually was. So I bought these with the hope that having the soap not soak in would help him use less of it. Nope. He would soap it up then run it under the water like you do with a normal sponge to suds it up, but that just washes the soap away. It’s also not great for scraping food from dishes and can be a little slippery to hold on to.All that said, you know what it is great for? Getting cat barf (and other feline bodily waste) out of carpet. Those rubbery little fingers can get down in there. I felt bad using paper towels since they don’t work well and have to be thrown away. Fabric rags get stained and are hard to clean off. Also I don’t want to wash a skid-marked rag with my other items. That is just a personal aversion, but it’s hard to ignore. With the silicone sponge all the nastiness washes right off and it doesn’t retain any smell.I also use one to wash my bod in the shower. It’s mildly exfoliating, but still gentle enough that I can use it every shower. After a year, just a few of the little fingers are coming off, but I’m also not using them as intended.

Warning! Slippery when soaped up and be prepared to use a LOT more soap
Got these cuz I was tired of the nasty smell of regular sponges for dishes and wanted to be a bit more eco-friendly. They're great honestly, once you get used to how much more soap you have to use, the extra scrubbing for stuck on foods, how darn slippery they get when you're using them, and the attack of soap/water that sprays up with a single wrong move and hits your eyes.Honestly the first 5 times I used one I thought about wearing safety goggles to protect my eyes, the little "teeth" on things will spatter soap/water all over the place while you're learning how to properly use these things. They also get slippery as hell so I had to learn the proper way to hold it and use it.But they work great on all my dishes, don't run the risk of scratching things up, and never get that nasty smell sponges do. Do get used to rinsing dishes quickly though cuz stuck on foods can be a real hassle to deal with.TLDR: Great product but slippery, requires more soap, and you'll hate stuck on food more.

What's not to love here?
I have so many uses for these. First of all, I have to comment on those people who complain that they are not absorbent. Well DUH! Do you not know what silicone is? And, of course, they are NOT scrubbers (you don't see that anywhere in the name do you?) so don't expect them to scrub off stuck-on food. Contrary to some other reviewers, I find that they stretch my dish soap. Our society as begun to equate suds with cleaning ability - NOT true. Anyway, they work well for light cleaning and I use them for wiping out my sink. Clearly, not a good counter cleaner. I use a dish rag for that and change it out every 2 days to prevent any mildew or bacteria buildup. That is what I love about these - antimicrobial. I use them for a lot of things. I have 3 hanging in my kitchen that I rotate regularly. I use one as a facial scrubber and it is EXCELLENT for that - again antimicrobial and much better than a wash cloth or one of those scrubbers you buy at the store. I have also found that they are absolutely perfect for cleaning the sides of your above-ground pool at the water line. I had tried all kinds of stuff and the thing that worked best (before I found these) was just using my fingers. However, that got tiring. Because silicone is very much like human skin, these work AMAZING. I have a 12' round pool and can clean the sides at/above the water line in less than 2 minutes. I know I am going to find many more uses for these but even if this is all I end up using them for, I would buy again. By the way, they also use less facial wash as they don't absorb it like a washcloth or those puff scrubbers do. I also use one for my body as well - same result.

A-Okay
These were a spontaneous buy since they looked interesting. They are good at quickly removing food that isn’t really stuck to the surface of what you’re cleaning, but not really good at stuck on materials. I wouldn’t use them for dishes only to be hand washed without using another cleaning item afterwards since they are not absorbent and can’t really clean sufficiently by themselves. But if you have lots of grime to get through, maybe dishes that have been soaking and their grime is loose, it’s good. Then follow up with a sponge or the dishwasher. I like that they are easy to clean and basically impossible to destroy. I’m not sure they are essential cleaning gear though.

Substitute for Sponges
I bought these as an alternative to regular sponges as they do not retain moisture, are more bacteria resistent, and looked like good scrubbers. I have found they are excellent for cleaning/scrubbing and easy to use. Getting used to them takes a while only because their consistency feels a bit strange after using sponges for decades. They seem to be very tough and durable. I am confused why one of the rating categories was absorbancy. I did not even consider that to be an important factor.
