It's my first battery mower and I love it
This review is for "Greenworks 48V (2 x 24V) 20" Brushless Cordless (Push) Lawn Mower (LED Headlight), (2) 4.0Ah Batteries and Dual Port Rapid Charger Included."This is my first battery-powered mower after many years of gas-powered ones. I was very reluctant to make the switch, but wanted to get away from some of the maintenance needs of gas mowers, as well as the need to have gas on hand all the time. The whole concept of a battery mower seemed strange to me. I kept picturing the toy mowers I had as a kid. Would it have enough power? Would it do a good job? Would it last? I can't answer that last question yet, but on the first two I am very pleased. In fact, I'd have to say that this mower did a BETTER job on my lawn than any of the gas-powered ones I've owned, AND it was easier to use. I'm not even sure how that happened, but it did. Here's what I like about the mower:- It's very lightweight compared to a gas mower (though not as light as a toy!)- The one-lever adjustment for all four wheels is super convenient and easy to use- It's really quiet and, of course, easy to start- I had no trouble pushing it up small inclines (this model is not self-propelled)- The height adjustment on the handle allowed me to find a comfortable position, which was not true of my last mower. All of these things bested my gas mower. One other thing I really like with a battery mower is that it's no big deal to stop the mower (maybe there's an obstruction in the path up ahead, maybe you get a text) and then restart it. You just let go of the handle, and then push the button when you're ready to go again. This is not as easy with a gas mower, and I found myself almost never stopping that one until I was done.I have a lot of "wild onion grass" in my yard, which is pretty tall and thick the first cut of the season. This mower did not clog or stop when I got to the thick patches, and handled them like a trouper. Also, my gas mower was self-propelled, and I was concerned whether this push model would be hard to push. It is not. I don't have any hills to cut, just gently-sloping lawn, and I had no trouble pushing it because it is light and has great wheels. In fact, at times I forgot that it wasn't self-propelled. But if you have bigger inclines or are not in the best of health, you may want to consider this option. I didn't find it necessary (let's hope that remains true as I get older!)The only thing that wasn't ideal was battery life. My yard is about a third of an acre, and typically takes a bit over an hour to cut. I didn't time it, but my batteries died when I was about half-way done. As I mentioned, the grass was thicker/higher for this first cut of the season, so I'm sure that used more juice, and I was also getting used to working the mower. But it is clear that I will not get my lawn done on one charge. However, I knew this going in, and this problem is easily solved by buying spare batteries, or just taking a break and doing the lawn in two halves, which I did (I weed-whacked while recharging the batteries). So if you're reluctant to take the plunge from gas to battery, I say go for it. And consider this model (or its self-propelled cousin) due to its great performance and great price. Consumer Reports rates it highly, as do I. I will try to update my review to comment on longevity/any trouble spots once I've used this for a while, but in all honesty, it is so reasonably priced that I could buy one every year and still save money over paying a lawn service, so I'm not too worried about its overall life span.

Lightweight and powerful lawn mower
The Greenworks 21" electric corded lawnmower has been amazing. It is light, easy to maneuver, powerful and maintenance free. I used an electric mower many years ago and for many years. I am happy to go back to the simplicity, efficiency, low noise and power of an electric mower. Figuring out a cutting pattern to avoid crossing over the cord was simple- just cut away from the cord plug in location. No more gas, oil and air filter changes, battery replacement or charging. Plug in and go. The electric motor has great torque and does not bog down, even with a 21" blade. The Greenworks has simple cutting height adjustment with a single lever so changes are quick and easy. The options for mulch, rear and side discharge allow choices throughout the mowing season.

Pretty satisfactory
Bought this mower to replace a 10-year old Sears Craftsan (Black & Decker) corded electric mower that gave up the ghost. We have a small yard so a corded mower works just fine. Read lots of reviews and this mower seemed to have the most positive ones overall, plus the 4-year warranty was attractive (although there's not a lot that can go bad on an electric mower). Compared to the older Sears Craftsman I had:Pros:Seems to cut the grass very well, so far I am getting a smooth even cut.Not very loud; Not silent, but about as loud as a box fan on high. Very similar to my old Craftsman mower.Lightweight - It feels noticeably lighter and easier to push than my old Craftsman.Bagging function seems to work well. Haven't tried the mulching function yet and I don't plan on using the side discharge.Cutting height adjusts easily.Cons:Does not feel as solidly built as the Craftsman. Made in China; the Craftsman was made in the USA. However, to be fair I don't think any manufacturer is making electric mowers in the USA any more (that I could find).Double-action trigger is harder to use than the Craftsman/B&D style. You have to hold down a button then pull the wire bail handle. I'm sure I'll get used to it but it just doesn't seem to work as easily as the Craftsman.Mover deck 'leaks' particles of grass and leaves as you mow. Hard to describe but after you mow there are clumps of clippings that accumulate on top of the mower deck that come through various cracks and crevices. Not really a problem, but you'll want to blow off the debris after every mowing. The electrical cord connector hangs lower off the push bar than on my old Craftsman. This might be personal preference but I liked it higher. You can't tie the cord off on the top push bar because it would interfere with the bail, so I hold it in one hand while pushing. That looks like a lot of 'cons', but I still give this mower a cautious recommendation; Its primary function is to mow and it does that fine. Time will tell if the other minor annoyances are significant or not.

Powerful - Well Made - Works Great
I had a very expensive battery operated lawnmower for the last few years. Motor burned out and it was too much $ to fix so decided to buy an inexpensive corded mower as I cannot tolerate gas and oil equipment anymore. This lawnmower exceeds all expectations. It is more powerful, cuts perfectly, has many height adjustments. My grass was over my knees in places but you'd never know it the way this unit worked. My cut area is about an acre and I used to work till the batteries ran out (or gas back when I used gas.) As this is corded it was me who "ran out" of energy first. Seems very well made, heavy and sturdy. Easy to assemble. My only negative surprise was how loud it is compared to the battery unit. Great buy overall.

Greenworks 13 Amp 21-Inch Corded Lawn Mower 25112
Absolutely worth getting for any normal moving. You are limited in distance by how much extension cord you have (you need a cord with a gauge according to the distance you want to mow, nothing less than 14AWG for up to 100ft/12AWG @ 150ft, thicker wire is plain better). Even so, this mower is very easy to maneuver and the cord generally stays out of the way.I love how quiet it is, how lightweight it is, and that it didn't bog down in any way. Every bit of nature went right into the bag—which is very easy to attach and remove. One of the most useful features is the quick change of the mow height; jacking it up on bumpy surfaces and dropping it on nice flat ground. So simple in just seconds.Using this mower is the best mowing experience I've had in many tens of years. No stench from exhaust fumes, instant start and stop, and low noise, among other featuers. This is my second Greenworks purchase—a pressure washer was my first—and I'm extremely impressed and happy I purchased this mower (and the pressure washer before it).
