Works great
Installed this sensor on a screened porch door, then created a routine for Alexa to announce when the "Porch Door is Open" ..Now we will know when deliveries or 'anyone' has entered the screen porch.

Waste of money -- doesn't work well with uneven doors - stopped working after two months
I'm further updating my review because these completely stopped working now. It's past the return window too. They're a waste of money.I'm updating my review because now these are working only sometimes, or I'm getting an alert a few minutes after the door is closed again (some weird connectivity issue maybe?). I got them so I'd know if doors were opened and dogs were getting into the street. I need to know that immediately, not two minutes later, and I need to know 100% of the time, not just "most" of the time. They're frustrating. I wish I had gotten something else. These are okay. I got two. My older house has doors that aren't flush with each other, and the device requires a gap of less than 0.7 centimeters, which is pretty small. I was able to add a large block on my door to make them even enough to work, but it looks clunky. I wish I'd realized before I bought them that they needed quite such close contact. However, these are my first contact sensors, so maybe this problem is consistent with all devices. The instructions are minimal and miniature.

Work perfectly.
These work great, not a single false alarm yet. They however sometimes take a moment to notify and I wish I could add a sound alarm system, because the notifications are only on the phone.

Updates review still working great
It just 1-1–25 and I bought this back in July 2023. Factory batteries are still working fine. I have it on a locker and is opened 5-7 times a month. It’s paired to my Alexa home and sends me notifications both to my phone and echo. Simple & effective.

If you're looking for an instant trigger sensor, look elsewhere
The media could not be loaded. I like that the sensor is pretty small. No problems with instructions. Through some testing with the alexa app and Smart home, the pairing went fine and showed up in the Alexa app immediately. I attached it to a simple light on/off routine such as, open sensor turn on light, closed turn off light. When testing by moving the contact open and closed, the delay varies from 1 second to 6-8 seconds, to not even registering. The sensor has an led on it when the contact is moved, which the light is immediate. So the delay must be in the entire Tuya backend to communicate to the AWS servers and then back to the light. I've changed the target device from gosund to tplink to Philips. All with the same result. Seems like there's some delay in the sensor itself maybe on the initial session connecting to the Tuya servers. If you open/close frequently there is less delay (as shown in the video). There is more delay if you let the sensor sit for a minute. Then it will almost always be 8 or so seconds on the initiate trigger. Not really sure why I encounter scenarios where it never triggers the light. Though doesn't happen very often.I was looking to replace a zwave sensor but definitely not doing that, as the zwave is a constant one second within in triggering the light.

This is not for Google Home
I wanted to like it. it's supposed to report that it is "open" or "closed".And yet the app suggests it's triggered by a change in its state. That's different, and that doesn't work. Besides it's dumb. It could get switched around and never get fixed. But Google Home says it's triggered when it "Starts or stops charging".So, choose one: Starts charging or Stops Charging;OR it's "Plugged in or Unplugged"So choose one: Plugged in OR Unplugged.4 choices there, and none of them make any sense.Yes I'm a dummy, and yes I tried them all, and yes I'll be your baby, and No, none of the choices worked, except sometimes the choice that was set when it was first installed sent out a notification. But only once. So, removed it from the network and tried again.Bla!I mean BLA!!

Great Door Sensors
These are great Door Sensors. The best part is that this really works and barely consumes any battery power. I have the same battery running for about 8 months now and it is still showing no signs of slowing down. 98% of the times the alert shows up almost immediately. There were only a few hiccups when alert did not show up or arrived hours late. Its a very good value for money and it does the intended job perfectly. Recommended to everyone.
