This trickle charger contain a small solar panel that will put a very small charge into your car battery - just sufficient to cover the ongoing power lost through an alarm system for example. These devices are kept inside the car and, for best results, the panel should be flat up against the windscreen where it can get as much light as possible. I would warn against using one of these that connects to the OBD2 socket. After it was removed before starting my car turning the ignition key caused a noise behind instrument panel and car refused to start. Upon investigation the engine management fuse had blown. Luckily replacing the fuse cured the problem. So it will be consigned to the bin
