Visions of the Past
This second half of 'Bleach' anime's tenth season contains a further eleven episodes (202-212) of the show. The first two episodes of this set see Kenpatchi finish his battle against Nnoitora before Aizen launches his attack against Karakura in person along with his strongest followers. The next couple of episodes take a break from the action for a filler storyline that sees Rurichiyo return to the World of the Living after a fight with her guardian Kenryuu. The remaining seven episodes of the volume deal with the 'Turn Back the Pendulum' flashback arc. This arc goes back one hundred and ten years to tell the tale of Urahara's time as Captain of Squad Twelve and the creation of the Visored. The first couple of episodes in this volume are good. The conclusion of the fight between Kenpatchi and Nnoitora was very good and sets up the next part of the proper storyline quite well. The two episode filler arc is somewhat silly but has some quite humorous moments here and there. It is the seven episode 'Turn Back the Pendulum' arc that is by far the best part of the volume however. The arc is very interesting with some good battles and interesting revelations about events more than a century ago. The arc is padded out a little here and there compared to the original manga version but the additions are generally small and relatively good. One of the best parts of this flashback arc is the chance to see how many of the characters looked when they were younger and gives a little background for a number of characters as well as the Visored. The animation and voice acting for the English dub are as good as usual for the series (both English and Japanese versions of the soundtrack are included of course).Overall this volume of the 'Bleach' anime is another good instalment of the series. I have always enjoyed the 'Turn Back the Pendulum' arc and as such I personally feel that this volume deserves a full five stars just for this arc alone.

Best Bleach yet!
Bleach continues with this instalment of the DVD, as Captain Kenpachi Zaraki finishes off his battle with Espada number 5, concluding the story arc. After a short filler, the new arc begins, as we are taken back into the past, revealing some of the history of the Soul Society. This is without a doubt one of my favourite Bleach arcs, as more is revealed about some of my favourite characters. Series 10 part 2 is sertainly a must buy for your Bleach collection!
