AEOTECRange Extender Zi - Zigbee Network Extender - Improves Range and Stability of Zigbee Network

I read that this was one of the more highly recommended rage extenders for home assessment, and I have found that it works great. It does really extend range in my house, and it integrates in a very compatible way, and lots of other zigbee devices connect through it with no problem. It's also easy to reset to factory settings and set it up again if you ever need to do that, The indicator light around the button on the bottom of the unit flashes in a way where it's easy to know what's happening as you set it up or reset it. I would give it 6 stars if I could.

Did the job perfectly! seems I have a dead zone or interference in the middle of my basement. one of these installed upstairs took over and made my Zigbee Network stable in the basement! within a few hours Home assistant was much happier with connectivity, reliablility, and speeds on the basement devices.

I’ve had the Aeotec Zigbee Range Extender for about 8 months in continuous operation. I am using it with Home Assistant Skyconnect zigbee controller. The device was recognized immediately and connected to the network immediately. I put a second device elsewhere in the house. It took about two days for the mesh network to reconfigure itself. The result was as expected: greatly improved connectivity, fewer dropouts, faster response. I’m buying another one today to extend the network to my mailbox.

I would like to use a zigbee remote (thirdreality smart button) to control the garage door. With some experimentation, I am beginning to realize that my old 90s garage remote from out-performs my zigbee setup, by far, in terms of reliability and range. My main zigbee coordinator with a ZBT-1 dongle is located in the room adjacent to the garage, placed right next to the separating wall, and initially, I placed a zigbee repeater (a plug) in the garage as well. I was not able to consistently open the garage door even standing next to the garage door outside - from the inside the house, no problem though. So, I purchased this zigbee range extender. This range extender is small, but the loop at the top of the extender will interfere with the 3 prong connector, but not 2 prong connector. I experimented with plugging the extender to the wall outlet, but currently, on the ceiling outlet, facing the garage door, appears to be better. This extender does provide a much better range and signal strength than a simple zigbee plug/repeater, but not entirely sure it meets my need.
