This is a really pretty lamp, ideal for use all year round. It's powered by a USB lead, so you'll need a socket close by, the lead includes a switch for turning on and off. The lights are on a fine copper wire and need unwinding and arranging, which is very straightforward.It makes a lovely display light, something could be installed under the dome to illuminate if required, but I think it looks nice as it is.

Lovely little lamp, quite bright too

Bought as a gift for my wife, her reaction said it all really. She thought it was elegant, enchanting and very pretty.I was slightly concerned when receiving the box from the neighbour, as it made a "clinking glass" noise when moved, but I need not have worried as it survived the shipping process without issue. It's fairly well sealed in polystyrene, and clinking noise was the glass moving around in the wooden base.On opening, the LED string is tightly woven and has to be unwound and then placed into the upturned glass dome. The dome is placed into the wooden base, and three small allen screws are tightened (using a supplied key) to hold the dome in place. I did feel that there was the potential to break the glass by over tightening these. There are some small rubber disks on the glass which I suspect the screws are meant to make contact with, but they didn't all quite line up. I erred on the side of caution and tightened enough to hold the glass, and no more.The underside conceals a 2 AA battery compartment (batteries not supplied) and there's a slider switch to turn them on and off.As already mentioned, they look really nice when turned on, and would make a great night light or something pretty for gentle corner lighting for example.As to downsides, well the picture in the listing shows a rose inside, this is an example of something that might be inserted into the dome, and not supplied. The only real negative is that with the switch on the bottom, it has to be picked up and turned over to switch it on or off, which might lead to finger marks on the glass dome, and no doubt increases the risk of dropping it. That said, it's still a great product, and now permanently installed as a bed side light.

This is a nice lamp in theory and I like that it's battery operated but I don't think the lights look as special although it's not bad.Also the wooden base is a bit rough on some parts and not smooth so the finish wasn't the best.I'd say it is okay and I'd rather put different lights in but I do like the glass and wood combination as a lamp.

Really beautiful when I turn it on . The whole bedroom is bathed in amazing lighting. :)
