product change
I bought the Echo Dot (5th Gen) on October 29th, which was a Christmas gift for my son. The gift was delivered on December 24th, 2024, and it was on for 10 days and did not reconnect, it always stays on the red light. The damage is to the equipment.

Defected device
The microphone stopped working. It always blinks red. Whatever I tired such as reinstalling and restoring Alexa itself and its App. Nothing works. The same issue lasts for an over a month already. I’m very disappointed cause it means my Alexa is defected and broken.

Echo Dot (5th Gen) - A Must-Have Smart Home Companion
The Echo Dot (5th Gen) is the best Amazon product I have ever used. Don't underestimate the capabilities of this tiny device; it has automated many things in my home and has quickly become a member of our family as it runs different routines daily. Every day, we find new functions to add to it. We took advantage of the Prime Day offer to grab one and are planning to add more to each room and connect them together in the future. This is a must-have device for anyone looking to enhance their smart home experience!

Nice but troublesome to set up
Not possible to pair two units up. The help launches straight into quite complicated discussions about wifi router settings and it seems this feature will not work on shared wifi (which is not obvious until you’ve spent ages trying…)Sound quality only ok considering the price but not the best for music.
