I got this to do the job, and it is working flawlessly for me. Shock strength is good; installation was easy because I have tools and watched YouTube videos. It fit my 2015 Ford F-150 perfectly; it's smooth when my tailgate drops down now, just like I want.

It works great but came with no instructions and what I believe to be missing something because I had to use self tap screws to attach 1 side but for the price well worth it.

This item didn’t even hold up for 6 months. The strut broke off and somehow fell out on the interstate. I emailed the company about a warranty replacement for them to tell me I was pretty much at amazons mercy to refund or replace. They do not stand behind the warranty on their products. They just tell you “Amazon handles all shipping of the products, contact them”. I should’ve stuck with the actual brand name for this and not some cheap knock off. BUYER BEWARE!

I wish it came with instructions, tool provided doesn't fit exactly and becomes a knuckle breaker if you're not careful. All of that said, the item is of good quality and works great! would purchase again.

This makes opening the tailgate much easier. Great product. Very easy to install.

Well I have had for about a year and still every time a new person sees it work they say something. Most people think my truck is just a high end model and it came with it. When I tell them you can get on amazon for cheap they say I need one yesterday. I do a lot of reviews but if it’s junk I send the thing back with a one star. If it works like it says and ok for the price I give it dues. This thing is great for the price and a quality product that fit perfectly and performance is great.

the instructions were not the best, but once you figure it out, this was definitely worth it, it was cheap in price but not in quality. Just annoyed about the instructions but got it installed in a breeze once I figured it out, and glad I went with the cheaper one as it works great!

The product came with all parts needed, however, the right angled star wrench that is need to remove the top main bolt was visibly cracked at the elbow and upon the first attempt to loosen the bolt it snapped in half. Using my own tools of the trade I grabbed a vise grips and was able to remove the bolt and then replace it. The other down fall was there were no instructions or pictures included. I ended up going back to the product in Amazon and looked at photos to determine placement of the parts. Once assembled it works great and as it should, slow open and yet easy to close.
