My D.O. ordered this for me to take when we determined my testosterone and overall hormone levels were low. I was 54 at the time. At first I took one capsule daily (50mg) but after a few weeks or so I had trouble sleeping, and would wake in the middle of the night with claustrophobic feelings. I also had anxiety and angered easily (I am usually a laid-back guy). I couldn't figure it out until I stopped taking this and then it went away. So then I split the dosage into two or three doses, taking one per day (about 15 - 20 mg) for two or three days in a row then not taking another dose until a week or so later. This has worked out much better. I talked to my doctor about this and he said that he has other patients that take the full dosage daily without any side affects. Perhaps I am just more sensitive to it I don't know. Anyway, I really like this product because when I take it in the morning it increases my energy levels and helps me to concentrate. I have a highly technical job and this stuff really helps. My hormone levels have all come back up and stabilized. I also use a testosterone creme every few days or so and that also helps. It is compounded by a pharmacy for me. Note: I think taking the pregnenolone only for a few days then stopping is best for me because it lets my body process it and use it without over stressing it or raising the DHEA and other hormone levels to high. I found a link to a doctor on some website who also recommended not taking this more than 10 - 15 mg per week. It think I fall into this category. Was recommended this product (in addition to 2 others) for hair growth. I have been taking for 3+ months now (have reordered) and do believe it is working (i guess in conjunction with the other supplement and shampoo).

My doctor suggested this for memory decline and I think it is helping. My doc measured my level with blood work and it was low so we doubled the dose.

I am taking this as directed by my general practitioner and it's given me my life back. There are studies on DHEA and certain autoimmune conditions, but my doctor says DHEA in large doses can have some bad side effects for women (acne, facial hair, etc), so she suggested we try pregnenolone instead, which is 1 step before DHEA and doesn't have those side effects. I had previously taken DHEA but (as a woman) had to do a very small dose, and was able to switch to pregnenolone at a fairly large dose. This has been the missing link in my condition, I feel now like I did before I was diagnosed!!! Hormones aren't an FDA-approved treatment for my condition, so my specialist doctor was of no help with this, but luckily my GP was willing to test me and work with me on it when I asked her. Watch it many sources say that 50 mg of this stuff is way too much to take on an every day basis I urge you to do your own research about this product before just taking it I am a health care advocate as well as adjunct practitioner so I cannot make any recommendations for anyone about this product all I say is do your homework and find out if this is something that you need it is a product that you need to take in short bursts perhaps three months on and a month off I haven't seen any concise research on that but this definitely has the potency to change your hormones the first day I took it I had a Rouzie feeling like I was swoon slightly headachy and intense but that went away after two days I don't know if it was actually related to the product but I do hear that some people do have headaches from this and they have to stop this also interferes with the cannabinoid receptors in your brain so your uptake of THC does not work

It is hard to find 15 mg. Firstly everyone should know that you NEED to have your hormone levels tested by a Dr. before you EVER take any hormone!!!!! This is not funny stuff and you need only the right amount to benefit you. DHEA is great if you need. Gives you more energy for sure. Just go to your Dr. first. I don't know why this is just an over-the-counteer (so to speak) drug... it shouldn't be in my humble opinion but again terrific if you need.

with any vitamin supplement, one needs to try to find one that works and for me this one does as hoped. easy to swallow and no side effects
