Q: for how long is this usable?

Q: Do you have to have your room or tent sealed? I have a 4x3x5 space that requires good ventilation.

The room must be sealed in order for the extra CO² to be uptook during photosynthesis in the photoperiod only. Scientific studies have shown that levels up to 1400ppm of CO² is beneficial. We run our warehouses at 1200 or so, allowing us to drop lighting and increase ų/mol/s where they're needed, at the leafs surface. In our personal studies we have found that releasing CO² in a room that is circulating/evacuating air is like a screen door on a submarine, it does no good. Release your CO² for an hour at the hottest part of the growing day while the room is sealed, then evacuate air normally. We've accomplished this with the bag discharge method and with Atlas CO² generators and both work equally well at increasing yields 20% - 30%. And if you've read this far here is a tidbit: a friend in the Humboldt area got me to foiler feeding with 2٪ milk solution once a week since the 80's and it increased production from 4300 lbs an acre to 5400 lbs. By adding the milk as foiler spray we reduced the need for extra carbon dioxide on the outdoor plants while keeping up with the higher indoor yields due to the added CO². Good luck

Q: Can the spores harm plants

The growth inside the bucket is not harmful to plants in anyway. Every unit has some sort of filter between the material inside and the exhaust ports.
