RockportMen's Sl2 Bike Toe Ox

Believe the reviews you read. These shoes are absolutely fabulous. They are incredibly comfortable and light. And, as my wife can attest, my feet don't seem to smell as bad after a whole day wearing them at work. As soon as I put them on I said, "Oh. Oh wow. These are nice." Initially I was unsure if I should get a 9 or 9.5. I usually wear a 9.5 in athletic shoes and 9 in dress shoes. I went with the 9.5 and I am glad I did. They fit and feel more like my athletic shoes.One of the first things I noticed after walking in them for a few minutes was how light they felt. So I went to my office at home and put them on the scale. My old shoes measured at 397 grams each. The new Rockports came in at a svelte 270 grams each. After walking in them the last few days, I can can attest that the reduced weight is noticeable.I can't speak to how they hold up after a long period of time, but I will try to give an update six months to a year from now. However, if you are in the market for a classically stylish and comfortable dress shoe to wear to work everyday, you should definitely consider purchasing this shoe. Very happy with my purchase.Update (May 29, 2019): It has been more than two years since I purchased these shoes and they are holding up very well. They have a few scuffs in the toe area but that's to be expected after near daily use for 2+ years. I will definitely buy these shoes again.

Fits well, and is fairly comfortable for a dress shoe. It is pretty lightweight which makes it feel somewhat cheaply made, but I have been happy with them so far.

Great feel even on the first try, with a debonair style and extremely suave and soft coloration. A must-have in every man's shoe cabinet.

Rockport basically has several styles to choose from but they are made in almost identical ways, for example the Sl2 Apron Toe Oxford and their Sl2 Bike Toe Ox are constructed the exact same way minus the outer leather styling. The base is a light brown color which looks cheap and the toe is spray painted black. The way they keep the weight down on these shoes is that the leather is very thin and the bottom black soles is actually a foam with a coating around that foam. It's a much lighter shoe than what it appears which is perfect for everyday comfort wear or where you have to walk a lot. there is grip at the rear of the shoe, I didn't feel grip at the front , but I didn't test it out extensively. Size fitting is what you expect which is good, I'm a US 8.5 wide, it fit wellOne thing that does separate these 2 styles is the Sl2 Apron Toe Oxford has on one side a butt joint where they didn't even try to hide the seam, normally it would be 1 piece of leather but since they did this to keep costs down it looks cheap. they just butted the pieces and glued the joint together.I think if you used acetone to remove all the dye and Feibings pro dye to recolor the leather and conditioned and waxed these they would be a good shoe for comfort and look a lot better but it would take work and money. value I would say is a 3, looks a 2 out of 5. I am returning these because my comparison is some used shoes off Ebay which were originally much more expensive, but overall value I think goes to that because I prefer the aesthetics over weight savings. And they aren't necessarily less comfortable than these. Pictures show both styles and the butt joint and the bottom sole for comparisonAlso note the leather isn't 100% perfect some shoes have indentation or patchy dye, maybe to cover up some blemish, for the most part they look uniform except for the black coloring which is clearly hand sprayed or rubbed on. some buyers reported the black paint came off during rain, I'm assuming it's because it's not real dye, it might be some water soluble paint which could come off easily with alcohol or water, which would indicate it's not dye because dye wouldn't come off like that

The media could not be loaded. Perfect shoes!! My husband has been wearing Rockport dress shoes for years and these did not disappoint!! Super comfortable the minute you put them on (being a bit snug and then loosens with time because of being genuine leather). The picture on Amazon is very dark, but as you can see they lean more towards the tan color with darkened tips. The inside is very well finished. Overall the shoe is quite lightweight. My husband usually wears a size 9, but always goes 1/2 size down with Rockport. Con: If there was one negative, is that we found the sold to be rather on the hard side instead of softer rubber. I hope it doesn't make them slippery. We will see.I will still give these shoes a 5 star despite the sole being harder. I don't think it's a deal breaker; just a different sole.

Son muy cómodos , se ven bien ,la calidad es la que esperaba .
