It Works
Used it on a 2015 MINI Cooper S hatchback, broke one so needed a replacement this works great.

Excellent replacement
The cords for my trunk privacy screen was broken, and I found these as replacement. So far it's doing a pretty good job

Works but difficult install
Used to repair my mk6 GTI. The holes in the ball are slightly too small for the string and I had to use some tools and a lot of force to get it through. Here was my process, a lot of struggle but worth it in the end:0. do all this on the car! you can't get it in place after assembly1. get the string through a large-ish sewing needle2. use a 3/16" drill bit to make the small hole in the ball slightly larger3. thread the string through the small hole using a lot of force4. tie a knot in the string, keeping the overall length even with the other side to keep it level5. shove the knot through the larger hole in the ball, using a lot of force6. shove the little cap in to cover the hole, again with a lot of force
