A most versatile DVD/CD player great for musicians; HDMI, USB and RCA connections.
These days most people have a DVD/CD player or two or three, but when I saw the versatility of the connection options with this player, I decided to go for it. The Good: HDMI allows direct connection to a computer monitor or smart TV. The USB connection also allows this. As an amature musician I am always looking for alternative ways to playback my music lessons. This unit precisely plays both the DVD lessons I have as well as the essential CD practice soundtracks. It comes with a very nice easy to use remote that has spot on slow motion and repeat features that are valuable for learning tunes. Play features are HD, HDCD, DVD, Compact Disk/Digital Audio, MP3, and CD Video. Extremely light weight and small in size. It fits well with my other devices during practice sessions and it is easy to pack when I need to travel. The open/close drawer operates very smoothly and all the controls on the unit are touch friendly. However, I find that the remote control is far superior in ease and accessability and I use that regularly. Being able to play CD tracks through my desktop using the HDMI connection is very helpful when I want to play a sound track along with a DVD lesson. I have played many DVDs from Scotland, Ireland and the UK including the Transatlantic Sessions and this unit plays those flawlessly without any need to choose a region. It is truly region free. The unit I received is very quiet and as I indicated, the open/close tray is flawless in operation. I know, I have several other DVD players, but this very compact and versatile unit will get some real play time. I also need to mention that it apparently comes with a three year warranty. Included are all the cables, HDMI, USB and RCA. I do have an older television that I sometimes use so the RCA plugs will be helpful if I decide to use that for playback. I also have lessons that were recorded on CD Video so this unit provides me with another alternative for playback. The not so good features are minimal: Does not come with batteries for the remote and you need to get 2 AAA batteries (I like to use the rechargeables and they last a long time). Just be ready to add batteries as you will want to use this unit right away. Control buttons on the unit are limited to open/close, play/pause, stop. (But, as I mentioned the remote is superior and quite convenient to use for my music lessons. The slow motion and repeat functions are very precise and easy to use). No other negatives from my usage experience. If you are looking for a DVD/CD player that has convenient versatile connectivity, great picture quality, light weight for packing and travel and exceptional convenience for playback of music lessons, this is a very nice value. Welcomed addition to my music learning journey. Although I have tried to attach some pictures, you really need to see the unit in action to appreciate the true quality. I do own other devices from this company that is, I believe, located in the United Kingdom and I have been very satisfied with the quality of those players as well. Cheers.

Bought 3 - 2 stopped working.
I ended up buying three of these Majority DVD players, all within a week or so (11/2023). I got one for each of the three TVs in the house that didn't already have DVD player. Those were the least frequently used TVs in the home. We have a library of well over 2000 movie/TV series DVDs, but we mostly watch them on a much more often used TVs, with more reputable and expensive brands of DVD players hooked up.Two of the three Majority DVD players have stopped working. The first Majority DVD player stopped working about six months after purchase (5/2024). The second Majority DVD player stopped working about a month ago (1/2025). The third Majority DVD player WAS working for one night last December (12/2024 - we had Christmas movies playing for the kids during a family gathering). I think the only time before that we had used that third Majority DVD player was right after we got it and set it up, to be sure it was working.Frankly, I don't have high hopes for the third Majority DVD player to continue working, so I haven't bothered moving it to a moderately more frequently used TV, where one of the other Majority DVD players have already crapped out.I highly recommend going with a more reputable, albeit more expensive, brand of DVD player than Majority - It'll be cheaper and much less frustrating in the long run.

Perfectly serviceable all-region DVD player
Just as the title says, this is a perfectly serviceable all-region DVD player. The picture quality is good, the remote works, and it’s easy to use. Many moons ago, buying an all-region DVD player was a very pricey endeavor, so I never did it (despite living in the US and having several Region 2 DVDs). Now, it’s considerably cheaper for me to watch my Region 2 DVDs on the big tv instead of a laptop (or rip them and add the digital files to a movie server - effort…). This DVD player is a great price for a basic DVD player, let alone one that will also play my other region DVDs.Even if you’re not looking to play DVDs from outside of your assigned DVD region, this is a good little DVD player. Hooks up easily with an HDMI cable and it has a remote. It’s a compact DVD player, taking up very little space on the shelf below my tv.The only issue I’ve found - and the reason I’ve given 4 stars instead of 5 - is that the unit turns itself on ALL THE TIME.I use it infrequently, so the remote is on a further-away side table: the remote isn’t being used by mistake, etc. Yet whenever I use my TV or soundbar remote, there’s a non-zero chance that the DVD player will turn on and open the tray. Even sometimes when I haven’t just used a different remote, the DVD player turns itself on and opens the tray.I’ve gotten used to it and have gotten in the habit of just making sure it’s off when I turn the tv off and checking that it’s off when I leave the house. This unintended ‘feature’ *very much* confused my best friend’s son who house sat for me while I was on a trip - he didn’t even use the tv it’s attached to, but noticed it was on/open all the time, even after turning it off the day prior. If that would bother you, maybe just leave it unplugged when not in use. Or maybe mine is just possessed and no one else has this issue.Of note, as I’m sure the description does still clearly point out, this is just a DVD player - it cannot play Blu-rays.
