This scanner does everything I need and more. It’s fast and always has updates to make the scanner perform even better.it also has an auto vin feature that allows you to perform full diagnoses on the newer model rams instead of needing extra attachments and more time to disassemble components to plug in additional attachment cables to get the scan normally you don’t need any of that with this scanner. It also has a feature where you can print out a copy of your pre and post scan on the same page which I like because it gives the customer a before and after copy of the scan diagnosis.I have to mention one of the greatest features about the xtool in general and that is the customer service ! It is most excellent. If your scanner isn’t performing like you think it should or missing features it’s suppose to have you can simply send in a request and there technicians will look at it right away and get the features it needs even if they need to connect to it remotely which they have done for me. I can tell you from experience and using too scanners from other shops that this xtool out performs all of them . If you buy any xtool product you will be pleased with the product and especially the customer support abdolutely I recommend

Stopped working after the update
I had an issue with my xtool. For some reason it stopped working after I did the update. I reached out to supporting team. They were very quick to respond and were very supportive. First, they tried to help me over the emails, but since it still didn't work, they sent me the address of where to send the device to get a replacement. I received a new stool within a week and it's working perfectly. Thank you for the help. Definitely recommend

Great tool for DIY & shops on a budget, great support, 3 years free software upgrades
### Long Review but worth the time to read ###### - Summary - Really good tool for DIY & Shops on a budget, great email, phone, and remote screen sharing customer service/support, 3 years free software upgrades ###### Detailed Review ####If you are a DIY mechanic looking for more than a basic ODBII code reader or have an automotive shop and not looking to break the bank, the XTOOL D8 is a good option and something you should consider.I saw a review for the D7 last year and was really impressed but could not justify the costs at that time. Stumbled across a discount offer (saved 25-30%) on the D8 a few weeks ago that was too good to pass up. There was also 3 years of software updates included (other products in the same space charge upward of $200 per update..yikes) with the purchase! If you have never used a pro level diagnostic tool it can be a little intimidating, but the Xtool screens/displays/menus make it easy to run automatic scans and jump into specific functions based on your needs. Depending on the age of the vehicle and on-board features, you can complete and control all kinds of tests/functions from the D8s menu system.ExamplesI have 4 different cars ranging from 2002 to 2020. While the computer on the 2002 may not have as many functions as the 2020, with the D8 I have full access to all the available functions/features allowed by each car.The D8 helped me we diagnose/confirm the issue with a door lock on my 2014 was the switch and not the actuator motor. It also helped me monitor the trans fluid temp while performing a transmission fluid service on the sealed transmission in the same car. While there are other ways to monitor the temp, they are less accurate and require additional steps/procedures.Key reprogramming/replacement on newer cars can be expensive. The dealers charges are not cheap, but with the D8 I can complete the replacement key programming & sync process. For use/pre-owned car owners, do you REALLY know that the dealer or seller gave you ALL the keys/phoebes sync with your cars? With the D8 you can complete a process to remove all PREVIOUS keys that were synced with the cars and only re-sync your keys/phoebes you have in hand. While the features of the D8 are important, I believe XTool's customer service/support is what separates them form other competitors with similar products. I have used their email support but have seen they have options for phone/web/remote control support (using TeamViewer on the tool). Even before you buy, you can send them questions via email or Amazon about what the tool does and what features it has. They asked for my VIN #s to provide more accurate information and replies usually came within a day. Even after I bought the D8 and had questions, they were very responsive with replies.I have read review about "similar" products and a common theme with those is that customer support is lacking, and responses are slow or not at all.Having a tool like this may be a luxury for some but in my case its paid for itself in repair diagnosis/cost savings. It even helped while looking for a used car recently. Any car we looked at, I plugged in the D8 and ran a quick scan to check codes. I could even tell if the codes were cleared recently without the emission/smog drive cycle being completed (red flag). Depending on the age of the car, I was also able to quickly jump into running some deeper tests/scans to make sure everything was in working order. Lets just say that there were more than a few cars we walked away from because of the info provided by the D8.

Solid, Well-Built Scan Tool with Pro Features Included
I’ve been using scan tools for a while, and the XTOOL D8S is definitely one of the better options out there—especially at this price point. The build quality is excellent—feels durable and professional, not like some of the cheaper units that look good in pictures but feel hollow in hand. The interface is smooth and intuitive if you're already familiar with how scan tools work. Navigation is quick, and I didn’t have to dig too deep into menus to find what I needed. One of the biggest wins with the D8S is how many features come standard that are add-ons or locked behind paywalls with other brands. I was able to successfully program keys for Honda, Acura, and Nissan—no hiccups, no extra modules, no surprises.Overall, this tool delivers great value with pro-level functions like key programming, active tests, and full system diagnostics built in. If you're working on your own vehicles or even running a small shop, this one's a no-brainer.

not compatible to my vehicle buyer beware now paper weight out of pocket loss
I purchased this d8 scan tool over a year ago now it just a paper weight. I own 2 vehicles both jeep 1997 and 2005. I bought this tool to use power balance and check for misfire counts. When I used this scan tool those functions did not work for my vehicle, the 30 day policy from amazon to return this scan tool has closed. I am now stuck with a tool that I can not use for the functions that I want to use it for. I can use my cheaper innova scan tool to do live data erase codes and I am fine with this. The cost for this scan tool is too much and if you would rather pay the extra money for a snap tool or topdog or the other autel just make sure to read the fine print and check the website to see if the scan tool is compatible with your vehicle. The information when I purchased did NOT have this information or to make it noticeable for the customer to check before you purchase. I did contact the company directly and they responded that both my vehicles can not perform the balance test. This scan tool is probably for the newer vehicles I can say I don't own a newer vehicle 2020 and up. My year vehicles 1997 and 2005 jeep grand cherokee. NEVER AGAIN!!!
