Q: How are the bags intended to be secured to the bins? Can it be done neat and sturdy?

We use the traditional 13 gallon draw string and they stay up fine. Keeping them out of view took a moment, but I just tie a knot at the rim. There is a groove down the center of the side of the inserted bin and I align the knot with the groove so the container slides in and bag is invisible. I did however remove the little handle (just put it in the bottom under the bin if I should need it) because when removing the bin with bag that handle would get hung up. When these bags are gone, I'm going to buy the black stretchy/fitted bags and see if that eliminates the need to tie a knot.

Q: What size bags work best for this trash can?

This trash can takes custom-sized, very expensive bags. "Tall Kitchen Bags" do not fit. They will not wrap over the top of the internal can. Those Hefty bags that Amazon says are "frequenly bought together" will not touch the bottom of these cans if you wrap them around the top. At last, a dual bin that's large enough!

It's surprising how much difference the larger size made. Especially for recycling items. Well made, looks good. Removable internal compartments with soft close. Good value too. Important to check carefully for dents on unpacking. Mine was slightly dented in transit and a perfect replacement was shipped even before I had returned the dented one. Great service. Very pleased with my purchase!
